Luke 23:46 Looking up to the sky, Jesus cried out in aloud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”; and when he had said this he breathed his last. *Like Jesus, at this point, Gatsby realizes there’s nothing more he can do. As reality is sinking in, he realizes there’s nothing he can do, and he is no longer fighting it.
