Jordan either sees herself as more mature than Daisy, or she recognizes that Daisy has a lot of growing up to do, even though she herself is a couple years younger than Daisy. One can see by the language usage, Jordan refers to herself as a lady, and refers to Daisy as a girl. This is perhaps a demonstration of how she compares herself to Daisy, or how she sees Daisy handling the situation. It is clear that Jordan thinks that Daisy could handle this situation more like an adult, rather than making Tom run around so she can kiss Gatsby while he’s not around. |
