Mix ingredients together and store in a ziplock bag.
Mix together the cream, vanilla, milk, sugar, and salt in the small coffee can. Put on the lid and tape closed. Put 1" layer of ice on the bottom of the large can. Add just enough rock salt to cover the ice. Place the small can inside the big can. Pack more ice around the small can, then add more rock salt. Layer ice and salt until you cover the small can. Place the lid on the big can and tape closed.
Sit about 2 yards from a friend on a hard floor. Roll the can back and forth for about 20 minutes. Open both cans. You should have ice cream. Stir the ice cream well; the outside freezes firmer than the inside. Have fun and be daring. Invent your own flavors!
