Welcome to the Ocean County Academy of the Arts, a division of the Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools. The Academy of the Arts has been created to enable students the opportunity to pursue part-time or full-time studies in applied arts at the Vocational-Technical School. Students who qualify are also given the opportunity to participate in advanced studies for college credit in a cooperative effort between the Academy and Ocean County College.

The Academy is dedicated to offering the highest quality instruction in the latest technologies. Students will be exposed to cutting edge technology and equipment that will prepare them for successful employment, or success in further education.

As a new or returning student, it is necessary to obtain and update student information. This orientation will require you to fill out some electronic forms. There is also required safety and policy instruction that all students must participate in and pass the required tests, in order to proceed any further in this course. NO STUDENT is exempt from this requirement.

This area will attempt to use computer-based interactive instruction as much as possible. This will allow the student to work at their own pace, and cut down on the time spent in lecture. However, in order to ascertain whether students are reading the material, there will be more quizzes and tests administered.  Many of these will be computer-based as well. This will afford students the opportunity of working in a web-based environment, preparing them with skills for the new millenium.

Students will also be responsible for printing out much of their own information, tests, student contracts, etc. Students will compile the requisite materials into their notebook. It will be important to follow instructions very carefully!
