The problems that we have in debating Time Travel are largely created by our experience of the Time Function as a continuous one way smooth function. Everything is viewed against this experience, in a Constant Time Frame.
However, if you consider another reference frame, for example a Constant Gravity Frame, where Gravity is perceived as a continuous smooth function then Time becomes erratic and discontinuous.
How does Time behave in this frame, should it act in a similar way to electromagnetic radiation in a Constant Time Frame? If Einstein, and before him Newton where right to seek a Unified Field Theory then it is reasonable to assume this is so. Therefore the TIMETON, the time equivalent of the PHOTON should exist and again by similarity probably will exhibit similar properties, i.e. wave-particle duality.
TIMETON's of different frequencies, measured against GRAVITY not time, i.e.dn/dg not dn/dt, may exist in the same part of the frame, from our perspective various Times co-existing in the same physical space but since they have different frequencies and therefore wavelengths. From within a particular Timeton the Universe would appear as it does to us, time being a continuous one way smooth function but from any other frame of reference it is very different. In this model, a Time Machine merely changes the frequency of your Timeton in a particular point in space!
Do TIMETON's exist and have Time Machines been invented at some point in the future, if so can we detect them?
The local strength of the Gravity field is effected by every body in the universe from Stars to ants, if Time varies so rapidly in reference to this as a constant, matching frequencies with a particular event at a point in space different to your own would be astronomically difficult!
Maybe you could get close by ignoring all bodies less than astronomically sized ones and computing the field using only those and constants measured for the background level. Again, depending on the electromagnetic radiation analogy interference may then occur, could this explain some of the reported 'paranormal' sightings? Are these Time Travellers with Timetons slightly out of phase with ours, sometimes strong and otherwise invisible.
Without doubt vast amounts of hype and exaggeration has be added to the observations of the 'paranormal' but are they evidence of 'Time Travel', can we think up any experiments to test the theory?
