| CODE OF ETHICS |
|
| All Association Members mutually agree to: |
|
| 1. Abide by any Constitution and/or by-laws set forth by the Tennessee Boxer Association. |
|
| 2. Accept both AKC and German standards for the Boxer Breed. |
|
| 3. Maintain their Boxers with the highest standards of health, care, and cleanliness. |
|
| 4. Keep accurate breeding records, registration records and papers, contracts, pedigrees, and health records. |
|
| 5. Breed ONLY with the intention of that breeding improving the breed. |
|
| 6. Encourage hip certification and other testing for health disorders common in Boxers. |
|
| 7. Make all Service and Sales arrangements CLEAR, COMPLETE, and MUTUALLY AGREED UPON. State in writing and sign by all parties involved. |
|
| 8. Not in any way make statements that are misrepresentative, fraudulent, or misleading in the selling or advertising of puppies or dogs. This includes but is not limited to titles and/or awards. |
|
| 9. Offer only dogs at stud that are at least 18 months of age, in good health, free from communicable disease, and free from disqualifying genetic faults according to both standards of the breed. |
|
| 10. Only accept bitchs for breeding that are at least 18 months of age, that are in good health and free of communicable diseases, and are free from disqualifying genetic faults. |
|
| 11. Produce no more than one litter per year from any one bitch and not breed a bitch prior to 18 months of age. Bitches should be in good health, free of communicable diseases, and free from disqualifying genetic faults. |
|
| 12. Not allow a stud dog to be involved in breeding where the owner is involved with Brokers, Puppy Mills, Litter Lot Sales, or any other commercial enterprises whose business is involved with such common activities. |
|
| 13. Not knowingly sell any Boxer to Brokers, Pet Shops, Puppy Mills, or Agents of such common activities. |
|
| 14. Accurately and honestly evaluate the quality of all Boxers sold, and to fairly represent said evaluation. |
|
| 15. Furnish buyers with a complete health record, 3 generation pedigree, registration or transfer documents (unless written arrangements are made at time of exchange to do otherwise). |
|
| 16. Conduct themselves at ALL times in such a manner as to reflect good sportsmanship on TBA, reflect good credit on the sport of purebred dogs in general, and reflect good character on Boxer people in particular. |
