WWAW All Star Wrestling
Taped 2/22/2001
Aired 2/23/2001
(Clips from Turbo, including the match between Jarrett and Chavo are shown.)
(Instead of "Rock Superstar", Coal Chamber's "Sway" plays, bringing us into the state of Virginia for All Star Wrestling! The crowd is ready for some great WWAW action, and we will be sure not to disappoint. Then, we get treated on the WWAW-Tron to President Jake Ryder!)
Ryder: Greetings, from my offices, to Virginia. Last week, I announced 3 matches for the upcoming PPV this Sunday, Deadly Sins. Now, I am prepared to give you great fans in Virginia, and all around the nation, the final 4 matches that will round out this great card in Washington, D.C. On Tuesday, Steve Corino attacked Chris Jericho verbally, to which Jericho attacked physically, accepting Corino's match. That will happen at Deadly Sins. Also, Jeff Jarrett called me up after Turbo, and said that he didn't like Mantaur, and wanted someone to take him out. I thought of the one man who really gave Mantaur a test, Scott Norton. I decided to make it a table match. Michael Modest and Buff Bagwell will also wrestle at Deadly Sins, and, due to their recent actions, the Perfect Event have been forced into a match against the Hardy Boyz. Also, I am ordering that the Perfect Event stay AWAY from Katie Haynes, until after the PPV is over. Thank you, that is all.
(The fans explode, as Deadly Sins looks to be a great card, this upcoming Sunday! We then go to the ring for the first match.)
Michael Modest
vs.
Jesse James
The Good: Both men went at it in the opening match, though Modest was probably saving himself for Sunday, when he would face Jesse James.
The Bad: Michael Modest didn't really go at it with a 110% effort. It brought down the quality of the match a little, but the fans didn't seem to care that much.
The Finish: Buff Bagwell came down to ringside, as James hit a clothesline on Modest. Bagwell slid a chair behind the ref's back to James, who hit Modest with it as he got up. James got rid of the evidence, as Bagwell stopped messing with the ref, and James covered Modest for the win.
Jesse James pinned Michael Modest after hitting him with a keyboard in 0:08:50.
Rating: ** 1/4
We now go backstage where Katie Haynes is with Chris Jericho.
Haynes: Chris, tonight, Chavo Guerrero Jr., the Hardyz, and yourself will team up to take on Jeff Jarrett, the Perfect Event, and the man you will be facing at Deadly Sins, Steve Corino, in a 8 man tag match. What are your thoughts on this big match tonight?
Jericho: First off, Katie, let me say you look marvelous tonight.
Haynes: *blushes* Well, thank you.
Jericho: As for those pathetic idiots Jarrett, Perfect Event, and Corino, I'll make sure they know what Y2J means, and make sure that, with the help of my partners, they never... ever... will be the same...again.
(Jericho walks off. We then go to the ring for the next match.)
Perry Saturn
vs.
Rikishi
The Good: The match was too predictable to begin with, as Saturn seemed to not stand a chance against the 500 pound Samoan.
The Bad: That Saturn didn't stand a chance against Rikishi.
The Finish: Saturn got on a roll, but Rikishi blocked a facerake and hit the Rikishi Driver for the win.
Rikishi Phatu pinned Perry Saturn with the Sitdown Piledriver in 0:06:53.
Rating: * 1/2
After the match, "Crush 'Em" played, and Goldberg charged the ring and battled with Rikishi, until security had to break it up.
Backstage Interview
(Katie Haynes is with Jeff Jarrett.)
Haynes: Mr. Jarrett---
Jarrett: Listen up, I know what you are going to ask me, and I'm just going to tell you know, that that bitch Chavo is going to pay for what he did on Tuesday. I've got the best group of people on my side tonight, and Chavo has a bunch of slapnuts. There's a big difference, you blond slapnut. I'm going into Deadly Sins as champion, and I'm walking out as Champion as well. And if you can't take that, you can choke on it, slapnuts!
(Jarrett walks off, as we take a break for commercials.)
(Commercials)
(Coming back from commercials, Buff Bagwell is already in the ring. As "Machinehead" plays, signaling the entrance of Mantaur, we go to some advertisments, voiced over by Katie Haynes.)
Haynes: Tonight, All Star Wrestling is brought to you by... South Eastern Wrestling...Burger King, home of the Whopper, where you can have it your way... and Dr. Pepper. Open up a Dr. Pepper, and smile a bit.
(Mantaur and Buff are about ready to square off, so let's go to the ring.)
Mantaur
vs.
Buff Bagwell
The Good: Unlike Michael Modest's performance earlier, both men, who have a match this upcoming Sunday, held nothing back in this match.
The Bad: They are Mantaur and Buff Bagwell, for Pete's sakes.
The Finish: Michael Modest came down to ringside, and jumped up on the apron as Buff set up for the Blockbuster on Mantaur, but Buff jumped off the top rope, went over to Modest and knocked him off the apron, sending Modest flying into the guardrail, almost knocking Modest out. The ref immediately went to the outside, while Scott Norton came from the crowd, with a road sign he must have tore off one of the signs outside the arena. He attempted to chuck it at Buff, to hit Mantaur with it, but Mantaur popped up and intercepted the road sign, swung, missed Buff, but got him the second time around, and got rid of the road sign. Norton didn't know what to do, and Mantaur covered Buff as the ref noticed the action inside the ring and counted the 1-2-3.
Mantaur pinned Buff Bagwell after hitting him with a road sign in 0:04:54.
Rating: -1/2*
After the match, Mantaur glared at Norton and went after him, and the two spilled out into the crowd. Modest got back to his feet for the first time since crashing into the guardrail, and charged into the ring and started laying in the boots to Bagwell. The ref told him to stop, and surprisingly, Michael did stop, and with a evil grin on his face, and to the boos of the fans, left the ring, now laughing, along with that stupid smirk on his face.
Backstage Interview
(Katie Haynes is with the WWAW Tag Champions, Kronic.)
Haynes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Clark, you two have been ordered by WWAW officials to not interfere in the next match tonight, between Vampiro and The Great Muta and Danny Doring and Roadkill, a match which you interfered in just this past Tuesday.
Clark: Haynes, I hate to break this to you, but I think the WWAW officials banned us from ringside so we didn't have to come down there and teach those bitches Vamp and Muta how to wrestle in the ring.
(The censors are kicking themselves for not censoring Clark, as Clark gives the mic to Adams.)
Adams: MUTA! VAMPIRO! You may be off the hook tonight, but come Sunday, we will destroy you, and walk out of Deadly Sins, and walk out of the nation's capital, the champs.
(Kronic walks off. We then go to the ring for the match which was just talked about in the interview, Vampiro and Muta against the team of Danny Doring and Roadkill.)
Vampiro and The Great Muta
vs.
Danny Doring and Roadkill
--Kronic is banned from Ringside.
The Good: First off, that we would have a clean match without Kronic interfering. Secondly, that Vampiro and Muta and Doring and Roadkill, no matter to their records, manage to impress the fans the most.
The Bad: Roadkill was the one who didn't seem to catch on as quickly with the match as the other 3 men.
The Finish: Roadkill threw Muta to the outside, and went to fly off the top rope and on to Muta, but Muta moved, sending Roadkill flying off into the guardrail, smacking his chin on the guardrail, hard. Muta threw Roadkill back into the ring, and hit the Moonsault, while Vampiro leaped into the ring and stopped any attempt at a pin break from Doring.
Vampiro and The Great Muta defeated Danny Doring and Roadkill when Muta pinned
Roadkill with the Moonsault in 0:12:57.
Rating: ** 1/2
Kronic came down to the ring after the match, having the prematch stipulation already waived, and attacked Vampiro and Muta. However, Doring and Roadkill, out of respect for Vampiro and Muta, strangely, helped them and got rid of Kronic. After the match, Doring and Roadkill and Vampiro and Muta shook hands, to the delight of the crowd.
Backstage Interview
(Katie Haynes is with Bill Goldberg.)
Haynes: Bill, are you afraid that Rikishi will interfere in your upcoming match with Al Snow, up next on All Star Wrestling?
Goldberg: Afraid? Katie, I'm afraid of nothing. I won't be afraid of Rikishi come this Sunday, and tonight, I won't be afraid of Al Snow OR Rikishi trying to run down and get his nose in my business.
(Goldberg walks off as we go to commercials.)
(Commercials)
(We return from commercials, and go to the ring for the next match.)
Bill Goldberg
vs.
Al Snow
The Good: That Al Snow didn't get squashed too much.
The Bad: That Al Snow didn't put up that much of a fight. Ever since Goldberg's match with Chavo, Goldberg's matches have seemed to lose their luster. Maybe that will change this Sunday.
The Finish: Al Snow hit one superkick, which Goldberg quickly got up from, hit another, with the same result, and then had a kick to the midsection blocked, into the Jackhammer for the 1-2-3.
Bill Goldberg pinned Al Snow with the Jackhammer in 0:04:19.
Rating: * 1/2
After the match, Rikishi came from the crowd, to the surprise of Goldberg, and clotheslined him from behind, and later hit the Rikishi Driver on him, to the boos of the fans. Rikishi pissed the fans off by flipping them off, and then leaving.
Backstage Interview
(Katie Haynes is with Chris Kanyon.)
Haynes: Chris, up next, you are facing Scott-
(Steve Corino jumps in to the interview, pushing Kanyon away.)
Corino: What the hell are you doing, Kanyon? This is my time for MY interview!
(Haynes has a sort of bewildered look on her face, but continues like nothing happen.)
Haynes: ...Well, Mr. Corino, tonight, you are teaming with Jarrett and the Perfect Event--
Corino: Blah, blah, blah, that's not important, Katie. What's important is that I go into Deadly Sins with a win, and leave Deadly Sins with a win, and, hopefully the respect of this locker room.
(Corino walks off, as Haynes talks under her breath.)
Haynes: Yeah right.
(Scott Norton is already in the ring, and Chris Kanyon needs to have his music played 3 times before he finally gets to the ring, after being pushed around by Corino earlier, when it was HIS interview time.)
Scott Norton
vs.
Chris Kanyon
The Good: Norton wrestled good tonight, and Kanyon didn't seem to shaken up earlier, from the attack by Corino.
The Bad: Kanyon seemed to be pissed about Corino attacking him, and he let out his anger in the wrong way, and wasn't completely focused on his match with Norton. Norton took advantage of this later.
The Finish: Mantaur runs down to ringside with a chair, and ends up cracking it over the head of Norton as he is whipped into the ropes by Kanyon, causing a DQ.
Scott Norton defeated Chris Kanyon by disqualification in 0:04:39.
Rating: *
After the match, Kanyon, still pissed after Corino's rude attack, attempted to knock Mantaur off the apron, still on the apron after cracking the chair over Norton's head. However, Mantaur ducked, and Kanyon FLEW over the top rope and towards the entryway, making a not-so-good landing, to boot. Norton was up by now, and as Mantaur returned to a standing position, Norton grabbed Mantaur by the throat, and managed to toss all 450 pounds of Mantaur over the top rope and on to the mat. However, before Norton could hit the Powerbomb on Mantaur, security came down and seperated Norton and Mantaur.
Backstage Preview
(We first get a shot of the Hardyz, then Jericho, then Chavo, and then on the other side of the screen, we get a shot of the Perfect Event, Jarrett and Corino walking TOGETHER. This is eerie, but we'll see if they can work as a cohesive unit, in a 8 man tag match... NEXT!)

Main Event
Chavo Guerrero Jr, Chris Jericho, and the Hardy Boyz
vs.
WWAW Champion Jeff Jarrett, Steve Corino, and the Perfect Event.
The Good: All 8 men were PERFECT tonight, and they showed it, whether it was dazzling the crowd with the high flying moves of Chavo, Jericho, and the Hardyz, or getting the crowd rambuctious with the heel tactics of Jarrett, Corino, and PE. Either way, the crowd seemed to be more entertained than a regular match, which is impressive once you really think about it.
The Bad: For a main event match, on a taped show like All Star Wrestling, this is as good as it gets.
The Finish: The Hardyz and Perfect Event couldn't seem to get their things in order, and battled through the crowd, and seemed to be battling all the way to Washington D.C., for Deadly Sins. Then, Steve Corino and Chavo Guerrero Jr. got into a scuffle, sending them up the entryway, and to the locker room, where we can only be sure we'll see them again. This left Jarrett all alone with Chris Jericho, who not too long ago, beat him for the WWAW World Heavyweight Title. Jericho quickly hit a bulldog, and went for the Lionsault, but Jarrett managed to get his knees up, nailing Jericho in the ribs. Jarrett went for the Stroke, but Jericho elbowed Jarrett, sending him into the ropes. As Jarrett came back, Jericho tossed Jarrett back into the other side of the ring into the ropes, and Jericho hit a running cross body press, and went for the cover.

Jarrett gets a little agitated, and goes for the Stroke on Jericho... and hits it! Jeff Hardy pops out of the crowd, surprising us all, as Jarrett goes for the cover.

Then, Matt comes out of the crowd, but the Perfect Event follows him out and attacks him from behind, then putting him through a table with a big spike piledriver. What's this? We go backstage, and Corino and Chavo are battling! Chavo has Corino set up on a ledge of a box, and he's near a table... TORNADO DDT, from the box, off the box, on to Corino, spinning him around and DDTING HIM THROUGH THE TABLE! THE FANS ALL EXPLODE IN CHEERS AND THEY ARE ALL IN AWE! Mantaur
vs.
Bill Goldberg
Falls Count Anywhere Match
The Good: This was a great match between the two, and was a big clash between the two to boot.
The Bad: They ARE not the best workers. But they put on a hell of a show for the Kansas crowd.
The Finish: Eventually, their combined anger ended them up in a men's bathroom. Now, Mantaur was giving it to Goldberg, beating his ass for most of the time, but Goldberg gained the advantage, and threw Mantaur into a bathroom mirror, shattering it easily. Mantaur stuttered back, right into Goldberg, who back suplexed Mantaur on the cold floor. As Mantaur got to his feet, he was SPEARED! through the bathroom door, smacking his head on a toilet...HARD... Mantaur was looking hurt legit, and Goldberg just hit the Jackhammer on the cold floor for the win.

He then whipped Jarrett into the corner, and set up for the Tornado DDT... and hit it! He went for the cover...

"The Stroke"
...Uh... what's going on?
IT'S THE PERFECT EVENT! AND THEY ARE COMING DOWN TO RINGSIDE! AND THEY ARE ATTACKING CHAVO!!! WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!
Jarrett and The Perfect Event shake hands and hug, and then raise all of their hands in the air, in victory, as Chavo lays still on the ground. They celebrate, until Jericho runs out of the crowd and ambushes Jarrett, but the numbers are too much... until the Hardyz come out! They attack the Perfect Event, and Jarrett and the Event get the hell out of there! They walk off with smirks on their faces, as Jericho checks on Chavo and the Hardyz give a glare towards the Perfect Event, then checking on Chavo as well.
