WWAW Tuesday Turbo
3/13/2001

(We see clips of ASW, including the tournament, Goldberg/Modest, and more.)

("Neckbone" takes us into the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey for Turbo! The crowd is pumped, and we are taken to Rutherford to kick it off!)

Rutherford: Welcome everyone, to Turbo! Tonight, the Final Four of the WWAW Tournament will begin, and we will have 2 wrestlers, by the end of the night, that will be fighting next week, on this program, live from Hartford, Connecticut. However, President Ryder has issued many statements. First, he has said that he has 2 people that are on his list of people he doesn't know whether to release or not. Al Snow and Jesse James will fight in a cage match, and there's a good chance that the loser might not have a job a few weeks down the road. Next, Ryder told us that 2 single matches, with Jarrett against Benoit, and Corino against Chavo, wouldn't be good enough, so he combined them together to form a tag match. The result is Jeff Jarrett and Steve Corino against the team of Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero Jr. Finally, 3 matches will be announced for the PPV less than 2 weeks away, . Ryder has told us that there will be a new team debuting at the PPV, and has announced that this team will face Vampiro and The Great Muta for the WWAW Tag Team Titles at the PPV. 2 more matches are expected to be announced either tonight, or on ASW on Friday. Now, let's go to the ring for the first match.

Smith: This match is a tag match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first..

("Guilty" plays, and Kronic comes out to boos.)

Smith: Kronic!

(Kronic enters the ring and awaits their opponents.)

Smith: And their opponents...

("Natural One" plays, and the crowd boos as Danny Doring and Roadkill come out.)

Smith: Danny Doring and Roadkill!

(Doring and Roadkill enter the ring to get prepared for the match.)

Kronic
vs.
Doring/Roadkill

The Good: Doring and Roadkill impressed the fans with some nice double team moves, while Kronic hit some big power moves.

The Bad: Both teams were heel, for the most part, so no one in the crowd knew who to cheer for.

The Finish: Roadkill hit the Amish Splash on Clark, and Doring hit a powerslam on Adams followed up with the Danaconda for the upset win!

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated Kronic when Doring pinned B. Adams with the
Danaconda in 0:07:40.
Rating: *

After the match, Doring and Roadkill celebrated as the fans booed.

Smith: Your winners, Danny Doring and Roadkill!

Rutherford: What an upset! Doring and Roadkill pick up the upset against the former tag team champions in Kronic. This next match is a match where the falls will count anywhere. The two competitors are Perry Saturn and Buff Bagwell, both who, honestly, are very much looking for a direction in their careers. This is a great place to get on the right track for both wrestlers, if they can pick up the win. Let's go to the ring.

Smith: This match is a falls count anywhere match with no disqualifications and no countouts, scheduled for one fall. Introducing first...

("We Be Clubbin'" plays, and Buff Bagwell comes out to the ring to a small pop.)

Smith: Buff Bagwell!

(Bagwell enters the ring and waits for his opponent.)

Smith: And his opponent...

("Judgement Day" plays, and Perry Saturn comes out to a round of boos.)

Smith: Perry Saturn!

(Saturn runs to the ring and meets up with Bagwell, as they slug it out.)

Falls Count Anywhere, No Countout, No Disqualification Match
Buff Bagwell
vs.
Perry Saturn

The Good: Bagwell and Saturn used the FCA stipulation to their advantage, taking it all over the arnea. The crowd jumped at a chance to act crazy in front of the camera, and so did the wrestlers. There were a lot of crazy spots in this match, from the ring, to the crowd, and in the locker room, to the front of the arena.

The Bad: They wore out after a while.

The Finish: In the back of the arena, there were a series of standing switches, and then Saturn hit a sick German Suplex on concrete and bridged into a pin for the win.

No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Perry Saturn pinned Buff Bagwell after a German suplex in 0:08:15.
Rating: ** 1/4

Smith: Your winner, Perry Saturn!

After the match, Saturn celebrates with the fans who are by the concession stands and then walks off.

Rutherford: That was a good match, but let's go backstage now where Jacob Goodman is standing by with one of the participants in the cage match later tonight, Al Snow.

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with Al Snow.)

Goodman: Al, later tonight you will compete in a cage match, and it's been rumored that if you don't win this match, you might not have your job by the end of the month! What do you have to say?

Snow: I'm not worried about losing my job tonight, because I'm not going to lose to that loser Jesse James. Plain and simple as that.

(Snow walks off.)

Rutherford: Snow is ready, but will Jesse be later tonight when a 15 foot steel monster will be surrounding them? We'll be right back!

(Commercials)

(As we come back to commercials, we go to the ring for introductions.)

Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first...

("Greyhound Pt. 2" plays, and Rikishi enters the arena to boos from the crowd. He is wearing his robe, with the word Rikishi sprawled across his waist. He begins to walk towards the ring.)

Smith: Rikishi!

(Rikishi enters the ring as "Machinehead" plays, and the crowd boos even more for Mantaur as he comes through the curtains. He is dressed in black pants, with a black shirt that says on the back "Welcome to the Machine." He begins to walk towards the ring.)

Smith: Mantaur!

(Mantaur enters the ring, and waits for the match to begin.)

Rikishi
vs.
Mantaur

The Good: Not too much. These guys are too big, and though Mantaur was impressive in his match against Buff Bagwell last week, he couldn't duplicate that performance with the Bad Man.

The Bad: Pretty much everything. Both men worked too slow, and many fans could be seen walking up the aisleway, as it was really a bathroom break for them.

The Finish: Rikishi hit the Rikishi Driver, but refused to go for the pin, and instead went to the middle turnbuckle, hit a butt splash, and went for the pin right there. And he got it. Mantaur wasn't too pleased afterwards.

Rikishi Phatu pinned Mantaur after second-rope sitdown splash in 0:10:20.
Rating: -* 3/4

Smith: Your winner, Rikishi!

After the match, Mantaur began to complain to the ref that he was cheated out of the match because he, the ref, counted too fast. However, the ref wouldn't hear it, so Mantaur nailed the ref in the head, knocking him clean out. Mantaur then hit the Stampede on him, knocking the wind out of him and omitting "Ohhh..."'s from the crowd. Officials came down to the ring, and told Mantaur to head on back to the locker room.

Rutherford: What a heinous attack on one of the WWAW officials! I'm sure that Mantaur will NOT get away without a fine for such behavior. Jacob Goodman is now with the second participant in tonight's cage match, Jesse James.

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with Jesse James backstage.)

Goodman: James, you heard Snow say earlier that he wasn't planning on losing to you later tonight in the cage match that may cost you your job if you do not win! What do you plan on doing differently tonight that you do on normal days?

James: I'm going to do what I always do, and that's do my best, win the match, and make sure that we never have to see Al Snow again after tonight.

(Jesse James walks off.)

Rutherford: So both competitors are ready for tonight's cage match! It should be something to watch! Right now, as we approach the top of the hour, let's go to the ring!

Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall... introducing first...

("Blue Monday" plays, and the crowd boos as Michael Modest comes out.)

Smith: Michael Modest!

(Modest, wearing gray trunks, enters the ring, as "Land of Confusion" plays, and Toshiaki Kawada comes out to a pop, considering his performance on ASW last week. He is wearing orange trunks with a green trim, and enters the ring, face to face with Modest.)

Michael Modest
vs.
Toshiaki Kawada

The Good: Both men knew how to entertain the fans, and entertain they did. Modest managed to piss the crowd off well, and Kawada pulled off some impressive moves.

The Bad: Nothing.

The Finish: Modest never got around to much offense, as Kawada hit the Brain Buster for the win.

Toshiaki Kawada pinned Michael Modest with the Brain Buster in 0:08:36.
Rating: ** 1/4

Smith: Your winner, Toshiaki Kawada!

After the match, the crowd started chanting "Kawada", as he had managed to put on 2 good matches on 2 consecutive TV shows.

Rutherford: Up next is the cage match, so don't go away!!!

(Commercials)

(We return, and the cage is almost set up.)

Rutherford: While we wait for the cage being set up, here's what we've seen so far in this WWAW tournament.

(A clip, voiced over by Goodman, features all of the matches of the WWAW tournament to this point.)

Goodman: The road to the WWAW World Title has been a long one. 12 wrestlers have fallen victim so far, and when the dust settles, 3 more will have fallen. The last man standing will get his shot at the WWAW World Champion, Jeff Jarrett at Catastrophe. But now, let's recap the tournament. Starting with the 1st round.

(Clips of Steve Corino vs. Perry Saturn are shown.)

Goodman: The first match was between Corino and Saturn, still enemies ever since the beginning of WWAW. Corino won this match, and advanced.

(Scott Norton vs. Michael Modest)

Goodman: Later that night, Scott Norton defeated Michael Modest to advance.

(Chris Kanyon vs. Jeff Hardy)

Goodman: When the WWAW came to Ohio, it brought 2 matches, the first being Chris Kanyon against Jeff Hardy. The New Jersey native won the match, and went to the second round.

(Buff Bagwell vs. Roadkill)

Goodman: Bagwell faced off against Roadkill as well that night, and it was almost no competition, as Bagwell finished off Roadkill.

(Rikishi vs. Chuck Palumbo)

Goodman: On Superstars the next night, Rikishi defeated Chuck Palumbo quickly, advancing himself in the tournament.

(Chris Jericho vs. Mantaur)

Goodman: Jericho scored an upset over Mantaur here to earn the right to go to the second round.

(Danny Doring vs. Matt Hardy)

Goodman: One of the hardest matches to predict in the tournament, Matt Hardy pulled out a win and advanced.

(Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. Bill Goldberg)

Goodman: When Steve Corino stuck his nose in Chavo's business, it cost Chavo his 1st round match against Goldberg, who won the match.

(Steve Corino vs. Scott Norton)

Goodman: Philadelphia housed mayhem, when Chavo got revenge on Corino by hitting Norton with a baseball bat on PURPOSE. Corino was DQ'ed as a result, and Norton advanced.

(Chris Kanyon vs. Buff Bagwell)

Goodman: Kanyon didn't have too many problems that night, as he won against Bagwell.

(Chris Jericho vs. Rikishi)

Goodman: Jericho scored upset #2 after defeating Rikishi. He advanced to face...

(Matt Hardy vs. Bill Goldberg)

Goodman: ...Bill Goldberg, who will face him later tonight on Turbo.

Goodman: So there you have it. We are down to 4 men. Scott Norton, Chris Kanyon, Chris Jericho, and Bill Goldberg. So who will win? Next week, watch Turbo for the finals of the tournament, and we'll just see.

(We go back to the ring.)

Rutherford: Thanks, Jacob. The cage has been set up, and we are now ready to begin the cage match. Let's go to the introductions.

Smith: This match is a CAGE match.

(crowd pops)

Smith: The only way to win this match is to escape the cage over the top of it. The door will be padlocked once both combatants are in, and will not be opened unless necessary.
Introducing first...

("The Kings" plays, and the crowd gives little reaction to Jesse James. He is wearing his Degeneration X, and a pair of blue jeans. He has a very serious look on his face as he begins his walk down to the cage.)

Smith: Jesse James!

(A WWAW official opens the door, and James looks at the big steel structure before stepping in. He reclines on the ropes, resting his head against the steel, before "Intergalactic" kicks in, and Al Snow comes out with Head to a HUGE pop!)

Smith: And his opponent... Al Snow!

(Snow simply steps into the ring, and glares at James. They both know what is at stake. As the official closes the door and proceeds to put a padlock on it, the bell rings and they charge each other!)

Cage Match
Jesse James
vs.
Al Snow

The Good: Both men knew what was at stake, as previously said, and did all they could to know that they wanted to stay in WWAW, and was going to do anything to do it. The cage was put to good use, as both men's heads seemed to bounce off of them very often.

The Bad: Both men tried to impress the fans too much. Before the end of the match, they seemed very fatigued and tired.

The Finish: Snow catapulted James into the cage, knocking him out, and then Snow exited the cage.

No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Cage Match:
Al Snow defeated Jesse James by escaping the cage in 0:07:56.
Rating: * 1/2

Smith: Your winner, Al Snow!

After the match, Snow didn't seem to be done. He climbed the cage again, regardless to the shouts of the officials below. He crouched on top, and then aimed for James. He hit an amazing moonsault off the cage, landing hard. After that, he opened the door, which had been unlocked because there was no reason to keep it locekd anymore, and he stole a mic from Robert Smith.

Snow: LOOK WHAT I'VE DONE! I'VE WIPED OUT THIS GUY WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING! YOU CHEER FOR THIS IDIOT?!?!? YOU ARE THE MOST STUPID PEOPLE EVER! YOU ARE ALL JERSEY PARK TRASH, AND YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!

(The crowd responded with an explosion of boos, but Snow didn't care. In fact, he grabbed a fan from his seat, still with his mic.)

Snow: WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!?!

Fan: J-j-j-john LaRue.

Snow: That's a great name, John. Do you like Jesse James?

LaRue: No, I like NOVA!

Snow: Who the hell is he! What the hell are you talking about?

(Snow throws LaRue against the cage, ricocheting his head off the cage and sending him to the ground.)

Snow: I never thought that these fans would give me some reason to hate them. But you all suck, so that's reason enough for me. Kiss my ass, New Jersey!

(The crowd booed as Snow threw down the mic, striking John in the head, and then left the ring area.)

Rutherford: What was Snow thinking?!?! First, he hits a moonsault from 15 feet up, and then he attacks an innocent fan! What the hell?? This is a new Al Snow, folks. However, we must go on. Up next is Jericho against Bill Goldberg, in what should be a very good match. However, we have to get rid of this cage, so we'll take a break, and be right back. Don't change that channel!

(Commercials)

(We come back to the ring, and the cage is gone. We directly go to the ring for the introductions.)

Smith: This match is a semi-final match in the WWAW Number One Contender Tournament. Introducing first...

("Sleep Now In The Fire" plays, and Jericho comes out to a big pop!)

Smith: Chris Jericho!

(Jericho slides into the ring and waits for his opponent. "Crush 'Em" plays, and Goldberg comes out to a big pop as well!)

Smith: Bill Goldberg!

(Goldberg runs to the ring, and slides in, but doesn't attack Jericho, but instead, gets prepared for the match.)

WWAW #1 Contender Tournament
Semi-Finals
Chris Jericho
vs.
Bill Goldberg

The Good: Both men were very close to the dream, yet only one man was going to get to it. Both men pulled out all the stops to pick up the win here, and the crowd loved it. Unfortunately, they didn't know who to cheer for, so it made for a tough situation.

The Bad: Nothing.

The Finish: Jericho hit a sidewalk slam and went for the Walls of Jericho, but Goldberg to a boot up and planted it on Jericho's head, and as Jericho staggered around, he never bothered to see Goldberg hop to his feet, and spear the hell out of him. One Jackhammer later, and it was all over.

[WWAW Tournament Semi-Finals]:
Bill Goldberg pinned Chris Jericho with the Jackhammer in 0:09:15.
Rating: *** 1/4

Smith: Your winner, Bill Goldberg!

Rutherford: So Bill Goldberg stops the upsets of Chris Jericho and advances to the finals! Later tonight, he will find out who will be facing him, because Scott Norton and Chris Kanyon will be facing off in not too long. Speaking of Norton, he's backstage with Goodman.

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with Scott Norton.)

Goodman: Norton, later tonight, you have a chance to go to the tournament finals, and all you have to do is defeat Chris Kanyon. However, Kanyon has Jarrett and Perfect Event backing him up...

Norton: So? I'm going to break that runt in two. And after I'm done with him, all I'll have to do is beat that bitch Goldberg, and I'm going to face Jarrett. Jarrett is scared of me. It's time for his worst fear to finally come true. I hope he will enjoy the asskicking he'll be getting in Madison Square Garden. Because I know I will.

(Norton walks off.)

Rutherford: Norton can get one step closer to facing Jarrett if he can beat Kanyon later tonight, but right now, let's go to the ring!

Smith: This match is a tag team match scheduled for one fall, and is not for the WWAW Tag Team Titles. Introducing first...

("The Stroke" plays, and the Perfect Event comes out. Both men are wearing bright orange trunks, and have smug looks on their faces.)

Smith: Chuck Palumbo and Shawn Stasiak, The Perfect Event!

(The Perfect Event enter the ring and show off to the crowd, but the crowd doesn't like it and starts booing them. Suddenly, "House of Horrors" plays, and Vamp and Muta come out with the spotlight. The lights are out in the arena, and Muta and Vamp don't even blow their trademark mist, they run into the ring and get the match started!)

Non-Title Match
Perfect Event
vs.
Vampiro and The Great Muta

The Good: Perfect Event was cocky, but Vampiro and Muta were cool. They totally schooled Stasiak and Palumbo, almost to the point of embarrasing them.

The Bad: The Perfect Event was horrible tonight. They both couldn't do anything right, and paid for it.

The Finish: Vampiro hit the Nail In The Coffin on Stasiak as Muta spit mist on Palumbo's eyes, usual ending.

No-Time-Limit-Non-Title-Match:
Vampiro and The Great Muta defeated The Perfect Event when Vampiro pinned
Shawn Stasiak with the Nail In the Coffin in 0:09:47.
Rating: *

Smith: Your winners, WWAW Tag Team Champions, Vampiro and The Great Muta!

(Suddenly, the lights go out. A voice can be heard.)

???: Vampiro! Muta! You have been very sneaky as of late. However, your fortune will come to an end in less than 2 weeks. And we shall see to it that you both have difficulties getting to Catastrophe, because we'll be glad if you forfeit the titles, if that's the way you want to do things...

(The voice fades off, and Vampiro and Muta shrug it off! What's gonna happen?)

Rutherford: We gotta take a break, but when we return, we'll have Scott Norton and Chris Kanyon, so don't miss that!

(Commercials)

We return and go directly to the ring.

Smith: This match is a semi-final match in the WWAW Number One Contender Tournament. Introducing first...

("Where The River Flows" plays, and the crowd boos as Chris Kanyon comes down to the ring with his lead pipe, along with the Perfect Event... and World Champion Jeff Jarrett! The gang is in full force, does this spell trouble for Norton?)

Smith: Accompanied by the Perfect Event and WWAW World Champion Jeff Jarrett, Chris Kanyon!

(Kanyon enters the ring, while the other 3 men go to his corner to give him a little support before..."Fuel" hits and Norton comes out to a big pop from the crowd!)

Smith: And his opponent... Scott Norton!

(Norton enters the ring and immediately goes after Kanyon while he isn't looking, beginning the match prematurely.)

WWAW #1 Contender Tournament
Semi-Finals
Chris Kanyon
vs.
Scott Norton

The Good: Norton got a lot of face pops as he beat up poor Kanyon. He was right, he did snap the poor guy in half. And in front of his home state, no less!

The Bad: Kanyon just wasn't with it tonight. His wrestling was subpar at best.

The Finish: Norton absolutely destroyed Kanyon with a Powerbomb for the win.

[WWAW Tournament Semi-Finals]:
Scott Norton pinned Chris Kanyon with the Powerbomb in 0:07:52.
Rating: * 1/4

After the match, Norton celebrated with the fans, escaping through the crowd, since Jarrett and the Perfect Event decided to enter the ring just then. Jarrett tried to check on the Kanyon, but Kanyon shoved him away! Kanyon grabbed the mic and yelled at Jarrett.

Kanyon: It's YOUR fault! You weren't there when Norton was beating the hell out of me! What the hell is your problem?

Jarrett: Shut up, Kanyon.

Kanyon: No, **** you, Jarrett.

(Jarrett then grabs a guitar and busts it over the head of Kanyon. He thanks Stasiak for having the guitar handy for him.)

Jarrett: You're messing with the wrong people, Chris.

(Jeff throws down the mic on Chris and celebrates with the Perfect Event.)

Rutherford: Kanyon was tired of Jarrett, and was angry that he lost thanks to Jarrett, and he paid for it! Up next is the main event between Jeff Jarrett and Steve Corino against Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero Jr. However, before that match begins, let us remind you that Turbo is brought to you by...Burger King...the home of the Whopper, where you can have it your way...Burger King is the official sponsor of the WWAW Number One Contender Tournament.

On Turbo next Tuesday, don't miss Scott Norton against Bill Goldberg for the right to face Jeff Jarrett in 2 weeks. So don't miss it! Now, let's go to the ring for the main event!

Smith: This match is a tag team match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first...

("Come With Me" plays, and Steve Corino comes out to a big round of boos.)

Smith: Steve Corino!

(Corino enters the ring, as "Cowboy" plays, and Jarrett comes right back to the ring from the ringside area with the WWAW World Title and another guitar he found under the ring! He enters the ring.)

Smith: And his partner...Jeff Jarrett!

(Corino and Jarrett are ready for their opponents.)

Smith: And their opponents....

("The Game" plays, and Chavo comes out to a pop and runs down to the ring, only to get a 2-on-1 attack! The match has already begun, and Benoit hasn't even came out yet! Finally, "Rock Superstar" plays, and Benoit runs down to the ring and evens the sides by going at it with Jarrett! The match is on!)

Main Event
Jeff Jarrett and Steve Corino
vs.
Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero Jr.

The Good: Everything. All 4 men gave it their all in this main event, and it paid off big time. Benoit and Corino really went at it, and so did Jarrett and Chavo, reminiscent of their February encounter.

The Bad: Nothing.

The Finish: While Chris Benoit locked Jarrett in the Crossface, Chavo hit the Tornado DDT on Corino! Chavo goes for the cover! ONE, TWO, THREE!

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero Jr. defeated Jeff Jarrett and Steve Corino when
Chavo Jr. pinned Corino with the Tornado DDT in 0:11:25.
Rating: ** 1/2

Smith: Your winners, Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero Jr.!

The show ends with Benoit still having Jarrett in the Crossface, while officials try to break that up, and Chavo is celebrating with the fans as he goes through the crowd.
