WWAW Tuesday Turbo
Aired 3/20/2001

(A video package airs, set to the tune of "Lit Up", by Buckcherry. We first see the situation between Doring/Roadkill and the Hardyz, beginning with Doring and Roadkill's attack on them and Lita, and then Doring/Roadkill throwing the Hardyz through the windows of a car. We then see Chavo and Steve Corino going at it, along with Kronic and the Perfect Event. We see recaps of the "lights out" attacks on tag teams in the WWAW, mimicking that of the WWAW Tag Team Champs, Vampiro and The Great Muta. We see Chris Benoit's debut, locking on the Crippler Crossface on Jeff Jarrett. Also, we see clips from the tournament, including Scott Norton, Chris Jericho, Bill Goldberg, and Chris Kanyon. The video package then fades... and then 3 words light up the screen, with a voiceover from somebody.

???: ARE...YOU...READY?

"Neckbone" introduces us to Turbo, and we go straight inside the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut, for a very big show! The crowd is absolutely pumped, as Rutherford begins our night off.)

Rutherford: Welcome everyone, to WWAW Turbo! Tonight is a big night, including Chris Benoit vs. Steve Corino, with WWAW Champion Jeff Jarrett as the guest ref, and the finals of the WWAW #1 Contender Tournament are tonight, as Scott Norton takes on Bill Goldberg! The winner will face Jeff Jarrett in less than a week at Catastrophe! I understand that backstage, Jacob Goodman is with Jake Ryder!

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with WWAW President Jake Ryder.)

Goodman: Mr. Ryder, you told me you had an announcement to make. What is it?

Ryder: Well, Jacob, Perry Saturn came to my offices in this arena earlier tonight, and demanded that he get a shot at Jeff Jarrett. And I simply told him that all he had to do was pass a simple test, but I didn't tell him what it was. He simply left my offices and stormed off. Well, Perry, I'm very much prepared to give my announcement about your test. Tonight, you will face a wrestler in the WWAW currently. This wrestler will decide your fate in 2 ways. If you beat him, you'll get a WWAW Title Shot on All Star Wrestling. If you lose, however... YOUR ASS IS FIRED!

(The crowd is shocked and speechless.)

Ryder: And your opponent? Oh, I'm sure you'll have fun with this guy. Because he's 450 pounds of all man...MANTAUR IS YOUR OPPONENT! HAVE A NICE NIGHT, PERRY!

(We go to a backstage shot of Perry, who is seeing this whole thing, and he is not happy. He is throwing chairs around, and is kicking lots of stuff over.)

Rutherford: How about that? Tonight, Perry Saturn will be taking on Mantaur, and if he wins, he gets a WWAW Title Shot, but if he loses, he'll be fired! This match has added to the excitement of tonight, I can't wait! Now, let's go to the ring for the opening match.

Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first..

("Blue Monday" plays, and the crowd boos as Michael Modest comes down to the ring.)

Smith: Michael Modest!

(Modest slides into the ring, and just stands in the corner, waiting for his opponent..."The Game" plays, and the crowd gives a fairly decent pop to Chavo Guerrero Jr. as he comes down to the ring.)

Smith: And his opponent... Chavo Guerrero Jr.!

(Chavo slides into the ring, and Modest runs over to start fighting him as the bell rings!)

Michael Modest
vs.
Chavo Guerrero Jr.

The Good: The early attack on Chavo was enough to get Modest some heat, and Modest managed to do enough heel tactics to keep that going. When Chavo hit some high impact moves, not only did Modest sell them well, but the crowd cheered big time. "Chavo" and "Michael Sucks" could be heard from the crowd at different points during the match.

The Bad: Considering the fact that it was an opening match, and that both men had to get ready for a big match at the PPV, it was hard for them to concentrate at first. But once they got around, they got around in a big way.

The Finish: Chavo reversed a whip into the turnbuckle, and charged in for some kind of splash or other move. Unfortunately, Modest grabbed the ref and shielded himself. Chavo went for a running spinning heel kick, and didn't even see the ref in Modest's way until it was too late. The ref went down hard, and then Modest took advantage of the extra breath and started to wail away on Chavo. Modest hit the Air Raid Crash at one point, but unable to get a pinfall counted, he became frustrated. The ref was still out as Modest grabbed Chavo and pulled him up. Modest whipped Chavo into the ropes, and then leapfrogged him. Chavo came back, however, with a clothesline. Steve Corino came down to the ring to a big amount of boos, and he was carrying a chair. He studied the match, as Chavo picked up Modest and locked on a sleeper. Modest kept his feet and moved backwards, towards the ropes. Corino jumped on the apron, and with the ref still out, drew back the chair. As he came forward, however, Modest hit a big elbow, stunning Chavo and sending him to the right just far enough to dodge the chair. Modest got cracked with it...HARD.. and Chavo turned around to see Corino! Chavo nailed Corino with a fist, sending Corino down. Chavo then turned his attention to Modest, and as the ref began to stir, Chavo hit a DDT on Modest. Now fully awake, the ref went back to work, right as Chavo hit a big Frankensteiner into a pinfall. ONE...TWO...THREE! IT'S OVER!

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Michael Modest after a Frankensteiner in 0:11:36.
Rating: ** 1/2

As the crowd celebrated as well as Chavo, Corino finally got to his feet. Unfortunately, it was too late for him, and you could tell he wasn't pleased by that fact. Corino tried to run into the ring to get to Chavo, but Modest tripped up Corino OUT OF NOWHERE, and started to lock on a bow-and-arrow submission!!! He locked it on, and Corino screamed in pain. "Sleep Now In The Fire" played, and Chris Jericho came down to the ring. He broke up the submission, and then started kicking away at Modest. As Corino got to his feet in pain, he then glared at Jericho, and then attacked him! The ungrateful bastard hit Jericho with the Old School Expulsion, as the crowd booed. Corino grabbed a mic.

Corino: I DON'T NEED ANYONE'S HELP IN THIS FED!

(Corino threw the mic down, and, holding his back, went to the backstage area.)

Rutherford: Wow! Modest attacked Corino for costing him his match, Jericho saved Corino, and Corino showed his appreciation by hitting the Old School Expulsion on Jericho! What the hell is going on in this fed anymore? Right now, we need to go to break, but don't go away! There's gonna be a big 8 man tag match after the break!

(Commercials)

As we come back from commercials, we are backstage.

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with Scott Norton.)

Goodman: Well, Norton, it's been a long road. You started in early March, and you are now at this point. Later tonight, you will face Bill Goldberg for the right to face WWAW Champion Jeff Jarrett at the upcoming pay-per-view, Catastrophe. So what are you planning on doing tonight to stop a man that could very well beat you?

Norton: I'm not worried about tonight, Jacob. Goldberg does not strike fear into my heart. Because I know I can kick his ass, and that's all that's important. Goldberg will be my final victim. Then, I'll go on to Catastrophe, and the victim trail will finally end. Jarrett, to steal a line from Goldberg, the same man that I'll be stealing the power from, YOU'RE NEXT!

(Norton walks off, as Goodman is looking excited for the match later tonight.)

Rutherford: Thanks, Jacob. Now let's go to the ring for the 8 man tag team match.

Smith: This match is an eight-man tag team match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first....

("Natural One" plays, as Danny Doring and Roadkill come down to the ring. They look determined, as they always have.)

Smith: Danny Doring and Roadkill!

(Doring and Roadkill enter the ring and wait for their partners.)

Smith: And their partners..

("The Stroke" plays, as the Perfect Event comes out to a very large amount of boos. The Perfect Event are looking as cocky as ever, not that anything would be changing in that regard.)

Smith: The Perfect Event!

(The Perfect Event enter the ring, as they wait for their opponents, with Roadkill and Danny Doring.)

Smith: And their opponents... introducing first...

("Guilty" plays, and the crowd gives a small pop and a few assorted boos to Kronic as they come down to the ring.)

Smith: Kronic!

(Kronic enters the ring, but Doring, Roadkill, and the Perfect Event, don't waste time, and attack Kronic... however, "Anthem For The Year 2000" plays, and the Hardyz run down to the ring and join the battle, as the match begins!)

The Perfect Event, Danny Doring and Roadkill
vs.
Kronic and The Hardyz

The Good: Everyone was pumped for this match. They went at it with great intensity, never lacking a second of good action.

The Bad: Not much...

The Finish: Doring, Roadkill, Stasiak, Jeff, Matt, and Bryan all fought to the back of the arena, leaving Palumbo and Adams alone. Stasiak would later come back, and distract the ref while Stasiak slipped the muscle flexer to Palumbo. Palumbo clocked Adams with it, and then covered him for a cheap win.

No-Time-Limit-Match:
The Perfect Event, Danny Doring and Roadkill defeated Kronic and The Hardyz
when Palumbo pinned B. Adams after hitting him with a foreign object in
           0:09:03.
Rating: 1/2*

After the match, Clark showed up, but Perfect Event had already ran off.

Rutherford: Well, I don't know how they did it, but the Perfect Event, Doring, and Roadkill have beaten Kronic and the Hardyz! Up next is a rematch from not too long ago, between Al Snow and Jesse James! But right now, we have Jacob Goodman backstage... Jacob?

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with WWAW World Champion Jeff Jarrett	.)

Goodman: Jarrett, you are the WWAW Champion. Tonight, you will be the special guest referee in a match between Steve Corino and Chris Benoit. First off, will you be involved in the tournament finals?

Jarrett: Jacob, let me assure you, that there is no way I'm going to interfere on the behalf of Goldberg, since that would get him DQ'ed, and I'd have to face Norton.

Goodman: Alright. Now, are you going to be a fair ref tonight?

Jarrett: Wait and see, Jacob. Wait and see.

(Jarrett walks off as we go back to the ring for the next match.)

Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall... Introducing first...

("Intergalactic" plays, and Al Snow comes out to a large amount of boos.)

Smith: Al Snow!

(Snow slides into the ring, and waits for his opponent... "The Kings" plays, and the crowd gives a few cheers for Road Dogg as he comes down to the ring.)

Smith: And his opponent... the Road Dogg, Jesse James!

(James slides into the ring, but Snow doesn't waste time and goes after James, starting the match early!)

Al Snow
vs.
Jesse James

The Good: The fans managed to invent a new chant tonight. During the middle of the match, the fans chanted "Snow Sucks Ass", which pissed Snow off and made him more determined to not only beat Jesse James, but cripple him.

The Bad: James wasn't doing too well today, and they both need to get a boost in the area of overness.

The Finish: After that unnecessary chant, Snow snapped, and quickly hit the Snow Plow and won the match in a very quick fashion.

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Al Snow pinned Jesse James with the Snow Plow in 0:05:52.
Rating: * 1/4

Snow kept kicking James while he was down after the match, and the fans booed him for this. Suddenly, Buff Bagwell ran down to the ring and chased Snow off. Buff checked on James, and then got a mic.

Bagwell: SNOW! Do you want to bag on the fans like that? Well, I'll see you at Catastrophe, and show you why I'm BUFF! and I'm the STUFF!

(The crowd cheers as Snow nods in agreement to the match.)

Rutherford: There you have it! We have another match for Catastrophe this Sunday! Bagwell, representing the fans of WWAW, will take on Al Snow, who HATES the fans of the WWAW. We are going to go to commercial break, but when we come back, it's going to be make or break time for Perry Saturn. He'll face Mantaur, and if he loses, HE'S FIRED! It's NEXT!

(Commercials)

We come back from commercials, and go straight to the ring.

Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall, and contains a special stipulation. This stipulation is that if Perry Saturn wins this match, he will recieve a World Wide Association of Wrestling Heavyweight Title shot against Jeff Jarrett on All Star Wrestling. However, if he loses, he will be fired on the spot! Introducing first...

("Judgement Day" plays, and the crowd is in dead silence as Perry Saturn walks down to the ring with a somber, yet determined look on his face. The crowd doesn't know whether to cheer or boo the former ECW, WCW, and WWF wrestler.)

Smith: Perry Saturn!

(Saturn slides into the ring and then stands in waiting for his opponent that will decide his fate... "Machinehead" plays, and the crowd EXPLODES into boos as Mantaur comes out. He looks REALLY pissed off, and there's no doubt in anyone's mind, whether in the crowd, backstage, or anywhere around the world, that Saturn would have a tall...and rather big order on his hands.)

Smith: And his opponent.. Mantaur!

Perry Saturn
vs.
Mantaur

The Good: Once that bell rung, the crowd finally got into the match. For every offensive, defensive, or general move that Saturn did to weaken Mantaur, he got a huge pop. Every time Mantaur fired back with something of his own, the crowd really got on Mantaur's case.

The Bad: We're talking about Saturn and Mantaur, so you can guess that the wrestling ability wasn't there. It was also a short match

The Finish: 2 minutes into the match, and Goldberg came down to ringside. Mantaur whipped Saturn into the corner, and Mantaur then went to the opposite corner, and was going to attempt a big splash in the corner, which would end the story for Saturn. In desperation, Saturn pulled the ref over just in time and Mantaur hit him. The crowd "OHHHED" as the ref went down BIG time. Mantaur then nailed Saturn with a right hand, and did the same motion again... this time, as he was running, Goldberg slid into the ring. Mantaur hit the splash on Saturn, and Mantaur turned around to see Goldberg running at him. Goldberg was going for the spear, and by god, Mantaur MOVED! GOLDBERG HITS SATURN IN THE CORNER! Saturn goes down in a slump, and Mantaur nails Goldberg with a clothesline as Goldberg can't believe what he's done! Another ref runs down to the ring, and Mantaur hits the Stampede on Saturn! NO DAMNIT! NO!! ONE! TWO! THREE! NO DAMNIT NO! SATURN IS FIRED!

No-Time-Limit-Match:
Mantaur pinned Perry Saturn with the Stampede in 0:04:47.
Rating: 1/4*

Mantaur rolled out of the ring, and the crowd booed so much, you couldn't hear yourself think. The crowd started up chants of "Mantaur Sucks" and, surprisingly, "F*** YOU GOLDBERG! *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap*" Saturn got to his feet, and he couldn't believe what had happened. Ryder came down to the ring, and looked Saturn into his eyes.

Ryder: You couldn't get it done, Perry. YOUR ASS IS FIRED!

(Saturn is PISSED OFF. He kicks Ryder and hits him with a Death Valley Driver, to a huge pop! Saturn then picks up Goldberg, and hits him with a Brainbuster! The crowd chants "Saturn" as he leaves the arena, and the WWAW.)

Rutherford: My god! Goldberg cost Saturn his WWAW career, and Saturn got revenge! But the fact remains, that Saturn is no longer apart of the WWAW roster. Good-bye, Saturn.

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with Steve Corino.)

Goodman: Corino, tonight you will try and add another win to your already impressive record, when you face Chris Benoit. But the main point that I would like to make is that Jeff Jarrett will be the special guest referee tonight.

Corino: So? Do you really think I need his help to get myself another win? NO! I'm going to do it on my own, because like I said earlier tonight, I don't need anyone's help. Jacob, you can kiss my ass for even suggesting that I would need help from Jarrett, and all of you fans can kiss my Old School ass too. The King of Old School is prepared to defend his throne, and will do it at any costs, but he will do it ALONE.

(Corino walks off, and we go back to ringside.)

Rutherford: Well, we've had a lot go down tonight. Saturn was fired from the WWAW thanks mostly to Goldberg, Chavo has beaten Michael Modest, Bagwell vs. Al Snow has been signed for Catastrophe, The Perfect Event, Danny Doring and Roadkill have won an 8 man tag team match. But there's still more to come. Most importantly, though, is the WWAW Number One Contender Tournament Finals. In that match, Scott Norton will take on Bill Goldberg, to decide who will face Jeff Jarrett this coming Sunday at the pay-per-view extravaganza, Catastrophe, live from Madison Square Garden in New York City. However, this match is for a lot more than just a shot at the title. It's a chance to figure out who the best wrestler in the WWAW truly is. It is a test of endurance, it is a test of integrity, intensity. It started with 16 men, and we are down to 2. Right now, let's go to the ring for the introductions.

Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall, and is the FINAL match, in the WWAW Number One Contender Tournament! (crowd pops) Introducing first...

("Crush 'Em" plays, and the crowd explodes into boos as Goldberg, the man who cost Perry Saturn his career, comes down to the ring.)

Smith: Bill Goldberg!

(Goldberg slides into the ring, and prepares for his opponent... "Fuel" plays, and the crowd gives one of the most explosive pops tonight to Scott Norton. Norton comes down to the ring, but he doesn't enter it quite yet.)

Smith: And his opponent... Scott Norton!

(Norton goes into the ring, finally, and asks Robert for the mic.)

Norton: Goldberg, you and me have come a long ways. We started this in early March, and we've gotten to this point. There can only be one winner. What's too bad for you is that I'm going to be the one walking out of Hartford, Connecticut, and walking into Madison Square Garden with the chance to beat the everliving crap out of Jeff Jarrett. So, Goldberg, any last requests?

(Norton tosses Goldberg the mic)

Goldberg: Don't give up too easily. I want this to be slow and painful for you. I will hurt you, Norton. YOU'RE NEXT.

(Goldberg tosses the mic and the bell rings)

WWAW #1 Contender Tournament Finals
Bill Goldberg
vs.
Scott Norton

The Good: Goldberg and Norton are two of the biggest men in the company. Yet, they still managed to amaze the fans with their athleticism. It was a close match from beginning to end.

The Bad: The ending could have been less tainted.

The Finish: Norton whips Goldberg into the ropes, but Goldberg reverses it and manages to hit a powerslam on Norton, and goes for the pin. 2 count only. Goldberg locks an armbar on Norton, but Norton refuses to give up, and Goldberg releases the hold. Goldberg then tries to get poised for the spear on Norton, but as he charges, Norton moves. However, Goldberg manages to avoid ramming into something that would probably hurt, and turns around. Unfortunately, he ran right into a big boot from Norton. Norton goes for the cover, but the crowd groans as he only gets a 2 count. Mantaur then comes down to the ring, to an amount of boos from the crowd. However, they fail to match the boos that Goldberg recieved... back to the match, and Norton picks up Goldberg and goes for a shoulderbreaker, but Goldberg goes up and over Norton, turns him around, kicks him in the gut and hits a DDT, knocking out both men. They are EXHAUSTED. Norton gets to his feet first, and runs towards Goldberg, but Goldberg trips him up and locks on an ankle lock! Norton is in pain, and is trying to edge his way towards the ropes. Norton is about to tap, but Norton gives one last ditch effort and reaches the ropes! The crowd cheers as the ref tells Goldberg to let go, which he does, eventually. Norton rolls around in pain, and eventually gets up, but, in a daze, wanders over to the corner. Goldberg is ready to hit the spear, but Mantaur runs over just as Goldberg begins to run and grabs Goldberg's leg! The crowd is shocked, and doesn't know whether to cheer this or boo this, due to Goldberg's involvement in Saturn's match! Goldberg kicks Mantaur off and charges Norton, but Norton catches Goldberg! Norton can't do that! NO!! NORTON HAS REVERSED THE SPEAR INTO THE POWERBOMB! NORTON GOES FOR THE COVER! THE CROWD IS GOING APESHIT! ONE! TWO! THREE! YES! HE DID IT! HE DID IT!

[WWAW #1 Contender Tournament Finals]: No-Time-Limit-Match:
Scott Norton pinned Bill Goldberg with the Powerbomb in 0:13:13.
Rating: 3/4*

The crowd stands up and cheers this match, not just Norton. Norton raises his arms in the air as he leaves the ringside area, and looks at Mantaur. Mantaur returns the stare, and nothing more is done between the two. Norton walks off, and then Mantaur follows. Goldberg finally gets up, and can't believe what has happened. He's pissed, but he got what was coming to him, in the minds of most of the fans.

Rutherford: WOW! Norton is going to New York City to face Jeff Jarrett for the WWAW Title! I can't wait! Up next is Corino vs. Benoit, Jarrett's the guest ref! IT'S NEXT!

(Commercials)

We come back from commercials and we go backstage.

Backstage Interview

(Jacob Goodman is with Jeff Jarrett, again.)

Goodman: Jarrett, you said you talked to President Ryder following the Norton-Goldberg match, correct?

Jarrett: I did, Jacob. He told me that the card for Catastrophe is complete. He announced that along with the Tag Titles defense, Chavo against Corino, the Hardyz against Doring and Roadkill, there are 5 more matches. Al Snow against Buff Bagwell, Chris Jericho against Michael Modest, myself against Norton for the WWAW Title, which I will defend and not lose, the Perfect Event against Kronic, and.. Mantaur against Goldberg!

(The crowd pops for the last one, as it should be interesting.)

Jarrett: But I have a challenge of my own. Mantaur, you beat Perry Saturn earlier tonight, the same man that wanted a title shot from me. Yet, you interfered in the Goldberg-Norton match, costing Goldberg the match and forcing me to face Norton. For that, your ass will pay. At All Star Wrestling, I'll face you in a non-title match. But be assured that there is no way I'm losing to a slapass like you.

(Jarrett walks off.)

Rutherford: Well, it's time for the main event, so let's go to the ring for the introductions.

Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall... Introducing first...

("Come With Me" plays, and the crowd boos as Corino comes down to the ring. He flips off the crowd in retaliation to their boos.)

Smith: Steve Corino!

(Corino enters the ring and prepares for..."Rock Superstar" plays, and the crowd pops as Chris Benoit comes down to the ring, with a fearless look on his face.)

Smith: And his opponent... Chris Benoit!

(Benoit enters the ring and stands off with Corino, but "Cowboy" interrupts them both, and the crowd boos as Jeff Jarrett comes down to the ring in a ref shirt. He has the WWAW title on the left shoulder, a guitar on the right, per usual.)

Smith: And the special guest referee...Jeff Jarrett!

(Jarrett enters the ring, and calls for the bell!)

Main Event
Special Guest Referee: Jeff Jarrett
Steve Corino
vs.
Chris Benoit

The Good: Both men are awesome in the ring. And throwing in the presence of the WWAW Champion upped the "awesomeness" of this match. Many close falls, and the crowd was eating it up.

The Bad: Yeah right.

The Finish: Benoit locked on the Crippler Crossface, and Corino tapped! However, Jarrett did not call for the bell. Jarrett and Benoit pushed each other back and forth, but then Benoit turned around into a Superkick! Corino went for a cover, and Jarrett tried a fast 3 count, but no dice, as Benoit counted out at what would probably be one under normal circumstances. Benoit then got to his feet, and locked up with Corino. However, Benoit did a standing switch, and started to hit the rolling German suplexes. However, when going for the 3rd, Jarrett grabbed his guitar and cracked Benoit over the head with it, knocking him out. Corino took advantage of this, and hit the Old School Expulsion and went for the cover. Jarrett then counted so fast, it could have blown your mind.

No-Time-Limit-Match with Special Referee Jeff Jarrett:
Steve Corino pinned Chris Benoit with the Old School Expulsion in 0:17:56.
Rating: **** 1/4

Corino celebrated, as Jarrett grabbed his stuff and ran. However, Mantaur cut him off and started to drag him back to the ring, and then threw him in there. Corino and Mantaur battled for whatever reason, and Benoit got to his feet and managed to grab a stunned Jarrett and hit 3 rolling German suplexes on him! Afterwards, Benoit locked on the Crippler Crossface, and Jarrett was in pain! "Fuel" played, and Norton cleared the ring of everyone, including Benoit! Jarrett was picked up by Norton... and Norton hits the Powerbomb on Jarrett! What will happen at Catastrophe when Jarrett faces Norton for the WWAW Title? Who knows?
