WWAW All Star Wrestling
Taped 3/21/2001
Aired 3/23/2001
(Clips from Turbo are shown first, including clips of the 8 man tag match, Norton/Goldberg, Saturn/Mantaur, and Corino/Benoit. "Sway" plays, and we go into Maine for All Star Wrestling!)
Rutherford: Welcome everyone to All Star Wrestling! We are 2 days away from Catastrophe, live from New York City! Tonight, we have some great action, including Jeff Jarrett against Mantaur in a non-title match. Let's go to the ring for the opening match.
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first....
("Greyhound Pt. 2" plays, and the crowd boos as Rikishi comes down to the ring.)
Smith: Rikishi!
(Rikishi enters the ring, and taunts the fans, generating more heat for him... "The Game" plays, and the crowd stands up to cheer and watch as Chavo Guerrero Jr. comes down to the ring.)
Smith: And his opponent... Chavo Guerrero Jr.!
(Chavo slides into the ring and immediately begins slugging it out with Rikishi as the match begins!)
Rikishi
vs.
Chavo Guerrero Jr.
The Good: Both men gave one hell of a performance in this match, and gave it their all for the fans in the opening match. The fans enjoyed it, and chants from "Rikishi Sucks" to "Chavo" could be heard.
The Bad: It was a little too short, but that was almost the standard for most of the opening matches.
The Finish: Rikishi goes for the Rikishi Splash, but Chavo moves out of the way. Rikishi gets up, dazed, and is dropkicked into the turnbuckle. Chavo scales the turnbuckle, grabs Rikishi, swings around and plants him with the Tornado DDT and goes for the cover! One, two, three! It's all over!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Rikishi Phatu with the Tornado DDT in 0:06:43.
Rating: * 1/4
After the match, Rikishi immediately got to his feet. He attacked Chavo from behind, which brought out Steve Corino! After he attacked the prone Chavo, Corino turned his rage on Rikishi, hitting him with an Old School Expulsion. This goes along with his "no help" thoughts, possibly.
Rutherford: Wow! Chavo picks up a considerable upset over Rikishi, but Corino and Rikishi attack him after the match! However, Corino attacked Rikishi, and hit him with the Old School Expulsion! Corino may not need help now, but he might wish he needed it, because at the pay-per-view, it will be one-on-one... Chavo will face Corino, and then, once and for all, this can be settled. Right now, let's go backstage with Jacob Goodman.
Backstage Interview
(Jacob Goodman is with the big Mantaur.)
Goodman: Mantaur, you have two things that should be on your mind tonight. First off, is your non-title match against the WWAW champion, Jeff Jarrett. Also on your mind should be your match against Bill Goldberg at Catastrophe, just 2 days from now. Mantaur, this week hasn't been a laid-back one for you. Over the course of this week, you will wrestle at least 3 matches, and maybe even more. What affect is this having on you?
Mantaur: It's not affecting me at all, in fact. If anything, it's making me stronger. When I came to this federation in early February, I made quick mistakes. First, I aligned myself with Chris Jericho. Then, I decided to pick a fight with Scott Norton, a man I know respect, and the only one I do respect around here. Finally, I made a mistake when I said to myself that there was no way that I could beat Goldberg this weekend. Confidence is key against an idiot like that. I'm not turning my back on you, Goldberg. I'm going to kick your ass, and I'm going to make sure I get great pleasure out of it. And that's all there is to it. As for Jarrett, we'll see who's the slapass after tonight.
(Mantaur walks off, storming past Goodman, who has a shocked look on his face.)
Rutherford: Well, Mantaur is mighty confident, though he has a demanding schedule this week. Later tonight, he faces Jeff Jarrett in a non-title match, and then he will face Bill Goldberg at Catastrophe, when it is live from Madison Square Garden, live on March 25th, this Sunday. Whether Mantaur will even make it past Sunday is up to the fate of Goldberg. Now, let's go to the ring for the next match.
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first...
("Natural One" plays, and the crowd boos as Roadkill comes down to the ring with Danny Doring.)
Smith: Accompanied by Danny Doring, Roadkill!
(Roadkill enters the ring, and Doring gives Roadkill some pre-match encouragement before going to Roadkill's corner. "Anthem For The Year 2000" plays, and Jeff Hardy comes down to the ring, with Matt.)
Smith: And his opponent, accompanied by Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy!
(Jeff slides into the ring and looks at Roadkill.)
Roadkill w/ Danny Doring
vs.
Jeff Hardy w/ Matt Hardy
The Good: These two put on a technical, high-flying, brawl, with the fans chanting "**** You Doring!" and "We Want Lita!"
The Bad: It was WAAAAYY too short, and was plauged with interference from start to finish.
The Finish: Both teams traded off interference, until Roadkill distracted the ref, allowing Doring to ram Matt into the ringsteps, hit Jeff with a powerbomb and follow it up with the Danaconda, and set up Roadkill, who hit the Amish Splash for the win!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Roadkill pinned Jeff Hardy with the Amish Splash in 0:04:40.
Rating: ***
After the match, Roadkill and Doring celebrated as they kept going up the ramp as fast as possible. Matt ran into the ring and checked on his brother, glaring at Doring and Roadkill as they went up the ramp, smirks on their faces.
Rutherford: Well, Doring and Roadkill sneaked by with a win, but will they be able to do it again later tonight when Doring takes on Matt Hardy? We'll see. Right now, we gotta go to a break, but when we come back, it'll be Al Snow against Chris Benoit, so don't go away!
(Commercials)
As we come back from commercials, we immediately go backstage with Jacob Goodman.
Backstage Interview
(Jacob Goodman is with Michael Modest.)
Goodman: Michael, tonight---
Modest: Don't bother, Jacob. Tonight, I will be winning against Norton, and then I'll go to Catastrophe and break Jericho in half, and that's just the way it is.
(Modest walks off, and Goodman is blown away at the speed he got done with the interview.)
Rutherford: Well, Modest seems determined to get through this as best as he can. Tonight he's got a big man in Norton, and on Sunday, one of the best wrestlers in WWAW, Chris Jericho. Now, let's go to the ring for the next match.
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first...
("Intergalactic" plays, and Al Snow comes down to the ring to a huge round of boos.)
Smith: Al Snow!
(Snow enters the ring, and gets ready for his opponent..."Rock Superstar" plays, and the crowd pops big time for Chris Benoit as he comes down to the ring!)
Smith: And his opponent... Chris Benoit!
(Benoit slides into the ring as Snow attacks him and the match begins!)
Al Snow
vs.
Chris Benoit
The Good: These two are superb athletes, and showed it tonight. Their athleticsm couldn't be described in words. These two put hard work into a match, combined with the heat of the crowd, due to Snow riling them up, was enough to make this a great mid-card match.
The Bad: Nothing.
The Finish: Snow hit the Snow Plow on Chris Benoit and went for the cover, but the lights went out in the arena! When they came back on, Snow was bleeding... and he was in the Crippler Crossface as well! The ref, seeing this going on, checked on Snow, and called the match when it was decided that Snow could no longer continue!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Chris Benoit made Al Snow submit to the Crippler Crossface in 0:09:34.
Rating: *** 1/2
After the match, Benoit looked up to the rafters again and smiled...what the hell is up there?
Rutherford: Well, strangely, another "lights out" attack has happened during a Benoit match. Who is looking out for Benoit...and why? I'm sure we'll get answers sometime soon, but for now, let's go backstage, where Jacob Goodman is standing by.
Backstage Interview
(Jacob Goodman is with Jeff Jarrett.)
Goodman: Jarrett, later tonight, you'll be facing Mantaur in a non-title match. This is the last match you'll have prior to the PPV this Sunday. What are you going to do tonight to ensure that you are 100% come Sunday?
Jarrett: I'm not worried about my opponent tonight, Goodman. Because I know I can beat him. He says that I could be the slapass after tonight? Ha, that's laughable. Listen up, Mantaur, you're the one that's going to be the slapass after tonight, because I'm going into Madison Square Garden, make history, and leave as the WWAW Heavyweight Champion, just as I always have. So choke on that, slapass!
(Jarrett walks off.)
Rutherford: Let's go to the ring for the next match.
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall... introducing first...
("Natural One" plays, and for the second time tonight, the crowd boos as Danny Doring comes out with Roadkill.)
Smith: Accompanied by Roadkill, Danny Doring!
(Doring slides into the ring, and Roadkill goes to Doring's corner to share encouragement with him. "Anthem For The Year 2000" plays, and for the second time tonight, the crowd pops as Matt Hardy comes down to the ring with Jeff Hardy.)
Smith: And his opponent... accompanied by Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy!
(Matt slides into the ring, and Doring and Matt slug it out to begin the match!)
Danny Doring w/ Roadkill
vs.
Matt Hardy w/ Jeff Hardy
The Good: These two put on an even better match than Roadkill and Jeff before them.
The Bad: There were too many blown spots between the two, and also like the last match, it was ridden with interference.
The Finish: This time, it was the Hardyz who got the best of the situation, as Jeff hit a Twist of Fate out of nowhere on Doring as Matt battled with Roadkill on the outside, distracting the ref's attention. Matt threw Roadkill into the guardrail, slid into the ring, and hit Doring with a shooting star press for the 3 count and the win!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Matt Hardy pinned Danny Doring after a shooting star press in 0:07:35.
Rating: **
This time, it was the Hardyz who were heading for higher ground, as they ran off with smirks on their faces... Doring and Roadkill were naturally displeased with the outcome of this match.
Rutherford: These two teams are almost too equal in terms of wrestling ability, it should be a great match this Sunday when they face off against each other in tag team action.
Backstage
(Buff Bagwell is walking down the halls, but runs into Al Snow.)
Snow: Hey Buff, what the hell's your problem, interfereing in my matches?
Buff: What the hell are you talking about, I just got here!
Snow: Don't give me that, I'm on to your game, Buff.
(Buff gives Snow a bewildered look as Snow storms off, pissed.)
Buff: Weirdo.
(We go back to ringside.)
Rutherford: Hmm, Al Snow thinks it is Buff Bagwell, the man he will face this Sunday at Catastrophe, who interfered in his match earlier! We'll have to see what Snow does, because Bagwell will be facing Toshiaki Kawada, right after this break!
(Commercials)
As we come back from commercials, we go straight to the ring for the next match.
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first...
("We Be Clubbin'" plays, and Buff Bagwell comes down to the ring to a fair pop.)
Smith: Buff Bagwell!
(Bagwell slides into the ring and shows off his muscles to the crowd, and then waits for his opponent..."Land of Confusion" plays, and the crowd pops big time for Toshiaki Kawada as he comes down to the ring.)
Smith: And his opponent... Toshiaki Kawada!
(Kawada enters the ring, and the two are about ready to start the match, when "Intergalactic" hits, and Al Snow comes down to ringisde with Rutherford for guest commentary!)
Buff Bagwell
vs.
Toshiaki Kawada
With Special Guest Commentator: Al Snow
The Good: Bagwell is prepared for Snow on Sunday, and showed it in his match against Kawada. Kawada himself was awesome, per usual, and the fans loved him just as much as they love good wrestling.
The Bad: The finish could have been a lot better.
The Finish: As Buff Bagwell hit the Buff Blockbuster, the lights went out again! When they came back on, Bagwell was laid out, Snow was standing over him, and Kawada was standing with both of them. Kawada hit a Brain Buster on Snow, and then picked up Bagwell and hit him with a Brain Buster! The ref allowed both of these things to happen, and counted the pinfall for Kawada!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Toshiaki Kawada pinned Buff Bagwell with the Brain Buster in 0:12:27.
Rating: ** 3/4
Kawada celebrated with the fans, and looked up the rafters...oh great...now he's looking up there...
Rutherford: Well, both Kawada and Benoit have looked up at the rafters today... what could be up there? Who knows? Maybe we will find out this Sunday at Catastrophe!
Backstage Interview
(Jacob Goodman is with Bill Goldberg.)
Goodman: Goldberg, this past Tuesday, you lost to Scott Norton in the finals, giving Norton a win and the opportunity to meet Jeff Jarrett at Catastrophe for the WWAW Heavyweight Title. How do you feel?
Goldberg: I feel GREAT, Jacob. What's a better feeling than crushing your nemesis in front of 40 or 50 thousand people? There isn't one. This is going to be a big week for me, I can feel it. One setback won't hurt me.
(Goldberg walks off.)
Rutherford: Let's go to the ring for the next match.
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first.
("Blue Monday" plays, and the crowd boos loudly, as Michael Modest comes down to the ring.)
Smith: Michael Modest!
(Modest enters the ring, and waits for his opponent. "Fuel" plays, and the crowd explodes into cheers as Scott Norton comes down to the ring!)
Smith: And his opponent...Scott Norton!
(The crowd kept cheering as Scott Norton entered the ring. However, he was rudely met with an attempt at a clothesline from Modest. However, it was a very feeble attempt, and Norton just shrugged it off, and the match began!)
Michael Modest
vs.
Scott Norton
The Good: The crowd was definetly into this one, as they chanted "Norton" almost the entire match, and only stopped to boo a heel tactic from Modest.
The Bad: Nothing.
The Finish: Modest tried to go low for a low blow, but Norton pre-meditated it and kicked Modest in his head, and then picked him up and hit the Powerbomb and covered Modest for the win!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Scott Norton pinned Michael Modest with the Powerbomb in 0:12:22.
Rating: ** 1/4
Norton throws his hands up in victory after the match, and leaves the ring, definetly prepared for Catastrophe.
Rutherford: The man who just beat Michael Modest in this ring is going to Catastrophe to face the World Heavyweight Champion... can he win the title, fiinally?
(Rutherford's thoughts are interrupted as Chris Jericho runs down to the ring and attacks Modest! He locks on the Walls of Jericho, making Modest scream in pain, before security separates the two.)
Rutherford: Well, that was strange... don't go away fans, Goldberg will take on Corino after the break, and our big main event is also tonight, don't go away!!!
(Commercials)
As we come back from commercials, we are treated to a match immediately.
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall.. Introducing first..
("Come With Me" plays, and the crowd explodes into boos as Steve Corino comes down to the ring.)
Smith: Steve Corino!
(Corino enters the ring, taunts the crowd a little, and then waits for his opponent. "Crush 'Em" plays, and the crowd gives a mixed reaction to Goldberg as he comes down to the ring.)
Smith: And his opponent... Bill Goldberg!
(Goldberg slides into the ring, and Corino attacks him to start the match early!)
Steve Corino
vs.
Goldberg
The Good: This was a rematch from a 2/3 falls match earlier in the year, which Corino won. There was a lot of emotion in this match, making it a lot more better than it already was.
The Bad: The Finish needed a little tweaking.
The Finish: Corino went for a superkick, Goldberg dodged, Corino twirled around and ducked a superkick from Goldberg, and then Corino tripped up Goldberg and tried to lock an ankle lock on. It had no affect on Goldberg, as he powered out of it and then set up for the spear. However, Corino dodged the spear, sending Goldberg into the steel post HARD. Corino mocked Goldberg, getting ready for his own spear, but as the ref was distracted by Goldberg's pain, Chavo Guerrero Jr. came through the crowd and stood behind Corino. As Goldberg came to his senses, Corino turned around and got hit with a chair, and then stumbled into Goldberg, who hit a belly-to-belly suplex and pinned Corino for the win!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Bill Goldberg pinned Steve Corino after a belly-to-belly suplex in 0:09:12.
Rating: 3/4*
Corino wasn't too happy after the match, and was obviously cussing to himself as we went back to the ringside area.
Rutherford: I've just recieved word from Jacob Goodman backstage, that at Catastophe... Lindsay Haynes will be in attendance! That's right, the same girl that replaced Jacob Goodman for a good part of the month of February and a little of March is back again! We'll be sure to give her a proper welcome back upon her arrival in New York! Right now, I understand we have a video from someone....
(We go black, but then come back to a picture of Chris Kanyon. He's somewhere, and he begins to talk.)
Kanyon: Jarrett... you put me out for a while... but it's not over yet... I'll be back... Revenge will be served, and it will be mine.......be prepared...Jeff...
(The screen fades to black, as the crowd is shocked, and doesn't know what to say, as does Rutherford.)
Rutherford: ...Let's go to the ring for the main event.
Smith: This match is the main event scheduled for one fall. It is also a non-title match... Introducing first...
("Machinehead" plays, and the crowd boos as Mantaur comes down to the ring.)
Smith: Mantaur!
(Mantaur enters the ring and awaits his opponent, the WWAW Heavyweight Champion. "Cowboy" plays not too long after that, and the crowd explodes into boos as Jarrett comes down to the ring, with his guitar over his right shoulder, his WWAW Title over his left, and a shirt that reads "Slapnutz Need Not Apply".)
Smith: And his opponent... the WWAW World Heavyweight Champion... Jeff Jarrett!
(Jarrett enters the ring and stares down Mantaur as the match begins.)
Main Event
Non-Title Match
Mantaur
vs.
Jeff Jarrett
The Good: The crowd was into the match.
The Bad: It wasn't that great of a match, and no one knew who to cheer, and who to boo, so the crowd was confused who to cheer and who to boo.
The Finish: Jarrett and Mantaur were worn out, and hit each other with a double clothesline, knocking both of them to the mat. As they both got up, Goldberg and Norton hit the ring at almost the same time. With the ref having been knocked out from a mistimed guitar shot, Goldberg got ready to spear Mantaur, and Norton was ready to clothesline the head off of Jarrett.. Mantaur and Jarrett were standing near each other, and when Norton went for the clothesline, Jarrett dodged and hit Mantaur... however, Jarrett dodged a clothesline, but got hit with a charging Goldberg. Goldberg and Norton then went at it after Norton shoved Goldberg, for whatever reason. Mantaur was the first to his feet, and hit a Stampede on the still prone Jeff Jarrett and went for the cover...
ONE...
TWO...
THREE!! YES!! MANTAUR BEATS THE CHAMP!!
No-Time-Limit-Non-Title-Match:
Mantaur pinned Jeff Jarrett with the Stampede in 0:11:49.
Rating: -3/4*
The crowd actually pops as Mantaur celebrates... however, Goldberg pulls Mantaur out of the ring and starts brawling with him. Norton attempts to Powerbomb Jarrett, but the Perfect Event come from the crowd with a big lead pipe, and both ram it into the back of Norton's head, knocking him out cold. Perfect Event is still backing up Jarrett... WHAT WILL GO DOWN AT CATASTROPHE?!?!?

WWAW Week In Review
Aired 3/25/2001
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first..
("Blue Monday" plays, and the crowd boos as Michael Modest comes down to the ring.)
Smith: Michael Modest!
(Modest slides into the ring, and just stands in the corner, waiting for his opponent..."The Game" plays, and the crowd gives a fairly decent pop to Chavo Guerrero Jr. as he comes down to the ring.)
Smith: And his opponent... Chavo Guerrero Jr.!
(Chavo slides into the ring, and Modest runs over to start fighting him as the bell rings!)
Michael Modest
vs.
Chavo Guerrero Jr.
The Good: The early attack on Chavo was enough to get Modest some heat, and Modest managed to do enough heel tactics to keep that going. When Chavo hit some high impact moves, not only did Modest sell them well, but the crowd cheered big time. "Chavo" and "Michael Sucks" could be heard from the crowd at different points during the match.
The Bad: Considering the fact that it was an opening match, and that both men had to get ready for a big match at the PPV, it was hard for them to concentrate at first. But once they got around, they got around in a big way.
The Finish: Chavo reversed a whip into the turnbuckle, and charged in for some kind of splash or other move. Unfortunately, Modest grabbed the ref and shielded himself. Chavo went for a running spinning heel kick, and didn't even see the ref in Modest's way until it was too late. The ref went down hard, and then Modest took advantage of the extra breath and started to wail away on Chavo. Modest hit the Air Raid Crash at one point, but unable to get a pinfall counted, he became frustrated. The ref was still out as Modest grabbed Chavo and pulled him up. Modest whipped Chavo into the ropes, and then leapfrogged him. Chavo came back, however, with a clothesline. Steve Corino came down to the ring to a big amount of boos, and he was carrying a chair. He studied the match, as Chavo picked up Modest and locked on a sleeper. Modest kept his feet and moved backwards, towards the ropes. Corino jumped on the apron, and with the ref still out, drew back the chair. As he came forward, however, Modest hit a big elbow, stunning Chavo and sending him to the right just far enough to dodge the chair. Modest got cracked with it...HARD.. and Chavo turned around to see Corino! Chavo nailed Corino with a fist, sending Corino down. Chavo then turned his attention to Modest, and as the ref began to stir, Chavo hit a DDT on Modest. Now fully awake, the ref went back to work, right as Chavo hit a big Frankensteiner into a pinfall. ONE...TWO...THREE! IT'S OVER!
No-Time-Limit-Match:
Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Michael Modest after a Frankensteiner in 0:11:36.
Rating: ** 1/2
As the crowd celebrated as well as Chavo, Corino finally got to his feet. Unfortunately, it was too late for him, and you could tell he wasn't pleased by that fact. Corino tried to run into the ring to get to Chavo, but Modest tripped up Corino OUT OF NOWHERE, and started to lock on a bow-and-arrow submission!!! He locked it on, and Corino screamed in pain. "Sleep Now In The Fire" played, and Chris Jericho came down to the ring. He broke up the submission, and then started kicking away at Modest. As Corino got to his feet in pain, he then glared at Jericho, and then attacked him! The ungrateful bastard hit Jericho with the Old School Expulsion, as the crowd booed. Corino grabbed a mic.
Corino: I DON'T NEED ANYONE'S HELP IN THIS FED!
(Corino threw the mic down, and, holding his back, went to the backstage area.)
Smith: This match is scheduled for one fall, and is the FINAL match, in the WWAW Number One Contender Tournament! (crowd pops) Introducing first...
("Crush 'Em" plays, and the crowd explodes into boos as Goldberg, the man who cost Perry Saturn his career, comes down to the ring.)
Smith: Bill Goldberg!
(Goldberg slides into the ring, and prepares for his opponent... "Fuel" plays, and the crowd gives one of the most explosive pops tonight to Scott Norton. Norton comes down to the ring, but he doesn't enter it quite yet.)
Smith: And his opponent... Scott Norton!
(Norton goes into the ring, finally, and asks Robert for the mic.)
Norton: Goldberg, you and me have come a long ways. We started this in early March, and we've gotten to this point. There can only be one winner. What's too bad for you is that I'm going to be the one walking out of Hartford, Connecticut, and walking into Madison Square Garden with the chance to beat the everliving crap out of Jeff Jarrett. So, Goldberg, any last requests?
(Norton tosses Goldberg the mic)
Goldberg: Don't give up too easily. I want this to be slow and painful for you. I will hurt you, Norton. YOU'RE NEXT.
(Goldberg tosses the mic and the bell rings)
WWAW #1 Contender Tournament Finals
Bill Goldberg
vs.
Scott Norton
The Good: Goldberg and Norton are two of the biggest men in the company. Yet, they still managed to amaze the fans with their athleticism. It was a close match from beginning to end.
The Bad: The ending could have been less tainted.
The Finish: Norton whips Goldberg into the ropes, but Goldberg reverses it and manages to hit a powerslam on Norton, and goes for the pin. 2 count only. Goldberg locks an armbar on Norton, but Norton refuses to give up, and Goldberg releases the hold. Goldberg then tries to get poised for the spear on Norton, but as he charges, Norton moves. However, Goldberg manages to avoid ramming into something that would probably hurt, and turns around. Unfortunately, he ran right into a big boot from Norton. Norton goes for the cover, but the crowd groans as he only gets a 2 count. Mantaur then comes down to the ring, to an amount of boos from the crowd. However, they fail to match the boos that Goldberg recieved... back to the match, and Norton picks up Goldberg and goes for a shoulderbreaker, but Goldberg goes up and over Norton, turns him around, kicks him in the gut and hits a DDT, knocking out both men. They are EXHAUSTED. Norton gets to his feet first, and runs towards Goldberg, but Goldberg trips him up and locks on an ankle lock! Norton is in pain, and is trying to edge his way towards the ropes. Norton is about to tap, but Norton gives one last ditch effort and reaches the ropes! The crowd cheers as the ref tells Goldberg to let go, which he does, eventually. Norton rolls around in pain, and eventually gets up, but, in a daze, wanders over to the corner. Goldberg is ready to hit the spear, but Mantaur runs over just as Goldberg begins to run and grabs Goldberg's leg! The crowd is shocked, and doesn't know whether to cheer this or boo this, due to Goldberg's involvement in Saturn's match! Goldberg kicks Mantaur off and charges Norton, but Norton catches Goldberg! Norton can't do that! NO!! NORTON HAS REVERSED THE SPEAR INTO THE POWERBOMB! NORTON GOES FOR THE COVER! THE CROWD IS GOING APESHIT! ONE! TWO! THREE! YES! HE DID IT! HE DID IT!
[WWAW #1 Contender Tournament Finals]: No-Time-Limit-Match:
Scott Norton pinned Bill Goldberg with the Powerbomb in 0:13:13.
Rating: 3/4*
The crowd stands up and cheers this match, not just Norton. Norton raises his arms in the air as he leaves the ringside area, and looks at Mantaur. Mantaur returns the stare, and nothing more is done between the two. Norton walks off, and then Mantaur follows. Goldberg finally gets up, and can't believe what has happened. He's pissed, but he got what was coming to him, in the minds of most of the fans.
