History, Water and Beauty on the Chesapeake Bay
Here are pictures and text to celebrate Steve’s stay in Annapolis for four months during the summer of 1999, which led to our move to the area in November. Neither pictures nor text can adequately describe the beauty and ambiance of this town, but we will try, first with a Barber painting.
Annapolis dates back to the 17th Century. The Old Statehouse is the center of the Historic District and overlooks, from State Circle, Main Street, the Harbor and the busy Annapolis docks. The Severn River, the South River, and myriad creeks, the size of bayous, flow into the rivers and into Chesapeake Bay. There is every form and size of sailboat, catamaran, motor yacht and working boat.
Seafood abounds. Here’s Nancy at the foot of the Eastport bridge over Spa Creek coming into Annapolis, during one of her several visits.
