Tallulah Falls is the only school in the United States which is owned and
operated by a state federation of women's clubs.  The Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs
founded the school in 1909, largely  through the efforts of Mrs. Mary Ann Lipscomb
of Athens, Georgia, who also served as the school's first director.
