Todd's Wheel of Time FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about the Forsaken

Who killed Asmodean?
I can't get into it... but I believe that it was Lanfear/Cydane.  No real facts... but Jordan has said that all the necessary clues had been revealed already.  After careful analysis of the end of
The Fires of Heaven, I would say it was Lanfear.  She was absolutely the last person that Asmodean thought he would see at that time, esp. considering that she had just died.

Is Sammael dead?
In my humble opinion, No.  I have no basis other than the fact that the glossry entries for Sammael say that he "apparently" died during his battle with Rand al'Thor in Shadar Logoth.  I won't believe it till he shows us the corpse.

Is Mazrim Taim really Demandred?
    Up until I read
Winter's Heart, I had believed that the answer was yes, but now I'm not so sure, chiefly because of one small thing.  At the end of the book, one of the renegade Asha'man thinks of how Taim came to him and told him how important it was to kill al'Thor.  Then, Demandred came and told him the same thing.  Why would he have need to do that if they were one and the same???

Is Corlan Dashiva really Osan'gar?   Updated!!!
The last time I posted an answer to this question, I wrote:  "Again, to date, there have been no true clues to answer this question.  In My Humble Opinion... Yes."  I'm glad to announce that I was right.  It is revealed in
Winter's Heart that the two were one and the same.

Who Is Moridin?    Updated!!!
     Before reading
WH, I had believed that Moridin was someone left over from the Age of Legends, perhaps a dreadlord.  I must now say that I believe him to be Ishamael reborn.  There are some more hints revealed in WH, but I'll go into more detail in the Shayol Ghul Archives.

Is Lanfear dead?
     Yes, she's gone... but...

Who is Cyndane?     Updated!!!
Cyndane is another of the reborn Forsaken.  More information was revealed in
WH, and I'm assured that they are the same.

Who is Mesaana hiding as in the Tower?
At this point in the story, I simply don't know for sure.  I don't believe that she would be masquerading as some high-ranking, White Tower official.  If I had to hazard a guess, I would think that she would be hiding out as someone lower on the totem pole.  Perhaps a low-ranking sister, or even a maid or servant.
However, it is also a possibility that she may not be with the White Tower in Tar Valon.  She could be masquerading with the Rebel Tower under Egwene.  It would explain why she isn't quite up on all of the latest dealing in Tar Valon when she is questioning Alviarin; she seems somewhat "ignorant" of their goings-on.  It would also give us another likely suspect in the "who is Sheriam's master" plot.
