Balthamel
What We Know of Balthamel
name: Eval Ramman
occupation: historian, specializing in vanished cultures
According to records, Eval Ramman was an attractive man with a wildfire temper. He enjoyed the company of women (immensely) and consorting with the rougher elements of society.
Eval pledged himself to the Dark One for one reason and one reason only: immortality. Although he never held a field command over the Dark One's armies, the possibility exists that he did serve as governor of conquered territories. It is known, however, that Balthamel did set up "camps" where humans were bred as food for the Trolloc armies.
Balthamel was trapped closer to the surface of the Bore than was Aginor, and as a result,, his body rotted to point that he couldn't bear to be seen. Unable even to use his own tongue to speak, he covered himself from head to toe, yet his soul and spirit remained vital.
Balthamel was the first of the Chosen to die. He was killed by the Last of the Nym, the Green Man, near the Eye of the World.
