Reality is the way the world is, regardless of how we perceive it or how we wish it to be. It's up to the individual person to question their own inherently biased perceptions and strive to come closer to reality and to avoid the pitfalls of idealism and its inherent self-deception.
Reality has no qualities and qualities ascribed to it are wrong, local, temporal, or deceptions on our part.
Nothing happens in a vacuum, everything influences and is influenced to a degree by everything else.
People are ultimately responsible for themselves, whether by existence, actions, or inactions. Ultimately, we all pay the ultimate price and sometimes it's not because of anything we could or did do.
People are neither inherently good nor inherently evil. They merely act based on their own motivations filtered through their talents, experience, tendencies, and situations. Good and evil are relative only to the observer and not absolute.
All rules have exceptions because rules are temporal, local, generalized, or impressed on reality by our biased perceptions.
Human beings are never motivated by "the good of all"...they are motivated by the drive to survive and pleasure. The works toward the "good for all" are, at their heart, driven by the understanding of the human being on some level that his success is tied to the success of others.
What we call “goodness” is merely beliefs taught to us by others that facilitate our own and our progenies survival.
What we consider evil threatens us.
All things change. All things…change.
Change can be resisted by force…the more change the more force.
Large forces are more easily redirected than stopped.
Efficiency and cooperation tend to be the easiest way. Efficiency isn't necessarily the best way. Cooperation isn't necessarily the right way.
Oh, and I might be wrong…
On a more personal note...
I feel, as long as people are willing and able to take responsibility for their actions and aren't forcing others to participate (and aren't unnecessarily disruptive) they should be able to do whatever the hell they want...sex, drugs, whatever. Some situations obviously need less disruption than others for us to survive.
Religion is…confused. Several billion people claiming to part of the ONLY right religion…and they all believe something different. Either God/Allah/Nature/Goddess/Whatever is schizophrenic and into sadism or someone or all of them are full of shit. Do I think there is an all-powerful being? Yes, oddly enough. Someone has an odd sense of humour…
Oh, always remember to duck…
…and don't get caught…or don't do anything wrong!
