My answer to this question is both yes and no. According to the development of our country, we don't have to suffer from starvation any more. Of course there might be still many countries where people die of low nutrition. But at least Japan, our country, has no more suffer from lack of food.

We don't have to spend so much time for preparing our dinner. For example, most of Japanese eat rice everyday. As you know, we can't eat rice as it is. Before eating, we have to add water to rice to make it soft enough to eat. After that, we have to boil it until it becomes soft and hot. This process usually takes much effort and time. But with the technology of an automatically rice making machine, we can make rice easily.

Due to the help of many technological machines, we can spend our time for other things. When my parents were young, they didn't have such a beneficial machine. They must spend so much time just for preparing food. That prevented women from working outside their homes. Most women in Japan spent their time for family matters. They didn't have jobs outside their home, most of women worked as a housekeeper. Technology surely enable women to work in a society.

What I have stated in the former paragraph is the merit of this topic sentence. On the other hand, this problem, "food has become easier to prepare", also include some demerits. Food has certainly become easier to prepare, but at the same time, we can easily get food that isn't good for our health. Most effective example of this is the "McDonald's food". As you know McDonald food tastes better as a junk food. It can be eaten like a snack food. But McDonald food itself has meaningless when we consider our nutrition. It might has enough energy to make you fat, but it doesn't give you sufficient nutrition to have good health. Imagine that all your dinner would be McDonald for one or two months.

As I have stated above, food becomes easier to prepare, and that gave a chance to women to work outside their homes. On the other hand, if we don't take care of its nutrition, that is, if we don't pay much attention when choosing our food, we can easily become sick because of low vitamine or minerals.
