<< I don't want to have a large factory near my community. Many people will also agree with my idea, because we don't desire living in a noisy, polluted area. Building a new factory surly brings us many disadvantages, and our quality of life will clearly be lowered. On the other hand, to have a large factory in our community might give us some advantages. In the following paragraphs, I want to discuss both advantages and disadvantages of this problem. First, I want to think of disadvantages of building a large factory. As you know, building a large factory has many disadvantages such as noisy sound, air pollution, water pollution, and the bad scenery of our community. If we have a factory near our home, we will suffer from the noise from the factory. For families who have babies, it is not good for both parents and the babies. It will increase the stress level of the mothers. If the factory can't stop its machines at night, we also have to suffer from insomnia. Air pollution and water pollution are also big problems that we can never forget. Especially in developed countries like USA and Japan, people are more interested in environment. We pay much attention to our health and our planets' health than our economic benefits. Now that we obtained certain levels of wealth, we don't like our community contaminated with much smokes and chemicals. A factory itself also damages our communities' beautiful scenery. Although, We, Japanese, don't live in a beautiful town like Cambridge. Our good old Japanese-style towns are mostly destroyed in the Second World War. We reconstructed our city these 50 years. Our city doesn't have enough history to have a beautiful scenery. But we still hope our community to be the best place for living. In this sense, I can't support the plan for a large factory. I have stated many disadvantages of the plan. Of course, building a large factory includes some advantages such as stimulation of the community economy, offering job chances for workers, increasing community population. But disadvantages I have stated above seem to exceed these advantages. So I oppose to the plan of building a new large factory in our resident areas.
