<< If you could change one important thing about your hometown, what would you change? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer. 253/4.0 If I could change one important thing about my hometown, I would make annual event. I live in Tokushima prefecture now. In Tokushima, we hold Awa dance every summer. Awa dance is very exciting because almost all people live in Tokushima take place and dance. It is held for 4 days every summer. In these 4 days, people are drinking and dancing until late at night. But in my hometown Shinjuku, where my parents live, such a festival don't be held. I think Shinjuku is a too large city to do such a festival. But I want to do such a festival in Shinjuku. So if I change important thing in my hometown, I want to make a festival. But I know that is almost impossible. What is the problem? One problem is that people don't live in Shinjuku for a long time. Many people move to Shinjuku and live for some years, and then they move to elsewhere. Since Shinjuku is a very convinient place to work, people move to there for many reasons. But a house in this area is very expensive to purchase. So most workers can't afford a house by their money. They live there by their company's money. So if the company tells them to move elsewhere, they must obey. So people live in Shinjuku don't love their city as people live in Tokushima do. For this reason, if I held such a festival in my hometown, most people would not be interested in the event. On the other hand, Shinjuku has one merit because of its largeness. As it is a large city we can't have a event such Awa dance, but television broadcaster often hold a small event. So though we can't enjoy as people live in Tokushima do, we can often take place a small event. Finally as a resident in Tokushima, I must admit annual event of Awa dance is much better than events held in Shinjuku many times in a year. What do you think? |
