I think both places, urban area and countryside have each merit for each residents and therefore which place is better is totally depending on people's own preference.  As for me, living urban area is suitable and preferable of me.  It is because urban area provides me with lots of my favorite things and guarantee me convenient life.

Big city has everything necessary, since shops and other public and private facilities meet the demand of their large population.  When we discover our favorite things to buy, like fashionable clothes or new interesting amusment places on TV advertisement.  Moreover, big city have lots of large museum exhibiting wouderful artistic works and large concert hall where competent orchestra have fascinating performances frequently.   If we live in countryside, we cannot go to buy.  I am very interested in classical music and I am such an impatient person that I would like to gain necessary and preferable things immediately.  Therefore as the view point that we can gain our desirable things easily and more opportunity to touch on skillful artistic works, I prefer to live in urban area.

Large cities give us more chance of various kind and larger number of jobs.   I aim at being a professional translator and my hometown is too small to look for my job as a translator. Bucause of its small population, there are insufficient demand of translator in my hometown, Hiroshima.  If I try to look for my favorite job, big city is better places to hunt jobs.  Big city such as Tokyo has lots of foreigners who go to my country, Japan for various purposes but do not speak Japanese and  need translated reading materials into English, common language.  In a big city, like Tokyo, therefore, I can find my preferable jobs much more than in small city.

Despite these personal merits of living an urban area, country side life also have some good points.  Clear water, air and beautiful nature heal our body and mind there.  We can live longer and healthier.  I admit its wonderfulness.  But countryside has deadful disadvantageous point for me, lack of developed transportation.  Since I have no confidence of being reasonable driver, I never take drivers' license from now on.  Countryside's poor transportation will compel me to drive a car or other vehicles.  I am really afraid of my causing car accident.  I and pedestrian are injured seriously.  Such scare outweighs the pleasure of leading a healthy and calm life in rural area.

In this way, urban area and rural area have both fascinations.  But with the analysis of my preference to convenience, the chance of getting preferable future jobs and strong fear for my driving, I have to choose living an urban area rather than rural area.
