<< Building a large shopping center is lucrative for my
hometown in terms of convenience. Therefore many of residents in the town
will support the plan. However, thinking about the predictable bad effect
on environment and increasing the risk of traffic accident, I have to oppose
this plan.
Large shopping center will make the locals life
convenient. People in my town feel inconvenience in going shopping.
There are many small shops such as grocery store, flower shop, and so on.
But there are only two large super markets, where we cannot buy anything except
food and other some utensils Moreover they do not have various kind
of things and if we want to cook special cuisine or to eat novel food, we have
to take train or bus to shopping to buy what we want. Therefore, the new
large shopping mall will same us precious time and fee to take public
transportation or car.
However, at the same time, the big shopping center will
increase traffic of my small town. Cars of customers who go shopping
from other town and tracks which convey commodities for the shopping mall might
make noise and trouble residents living near road and the shop.
Discharged gasses from the car and large amount of waste from the shops will
pollute environment. Large number of customers and employees coming
from other places themselves change the present quitet and peaceful atmosphere
of the residential area into the noisy town. I love my town's tranquility
in day time and peaceful atmosphere. Therefore, I do not want the shopping
center to change the atmosphere and environment of my hometown.
Change of atmosphere and environment might be
accustomed things for many of residents thinking about its
convenience. But I really fear the increase of serious accident
followed by the increase of traffic. As I mentioned, my hometown is
residential area and lots of children are living or at least learining in my
town. There are three kindergartens, one public day nursery,
and two public elementary schools. Everyone cannot deny that little
infants and pupils can be careful enough to prevent themselves form crushing
with cars.
I admit the convenience of the new shopping center. However with the consideration of many children in my hometown and predictable change of atmosphere of my town and the risk of increasing traffic accidents by the increase of car, I cannot support the construction of the shopping center. |
