I like watching movie and sometimes go to movie theater with others or even alone.  It is one of my hobbies and best methods of recharging battery in my mind.  Thus, personally the new movie theater near my house might be desirable.  However, in terms of the benefit for my community, I do not agree with the plan.

 

  First of all, we cannot expect the development of my hometown by the construction of movie theater, since the new movie theater will be in failure.   Now, my next town has already movie theater, where we can go within ten minutes by car.   The theater is so large that we can watch four kinds of film works there.  Moreover, the large theater is built in a department store and customer can buy whatever they want before or after they enjoy movies.  Therefore, people will continue to choose the large theater near my town which means that the new theater will not be able to make benefit so much from customer outside my town, even if residents in my town visit the theater

 

  Secondly, the movie theater might be a stimulant of children's escaping from school.   My home town has lots of children who go to elementary school and junior high school but no place of entertainment.   Therefore they do not know how to control their desire around the fascinating things and just go back and forth to school.  However, the new movie theater near their houses might interest students.  Especially some junior high school students are prone to go to theater rather than to their school.  It is because junior high school students who stars to be interested in cultural things and entertainment activities tend to be fascinated with movie.  Then, in my community, students have to go to the middle school far from the town.  Therefore, they might feel like dropping by the theater in the vicinity of their house  before reaching their adequate place.   New movie theater, therefore, might prevents some students from concentrating on their study.

 

  In this way, construction of new movie theater is unnecessary and might be even disadvantageous for my community.  Consequently, I have to oppose to build the movie theater.
