We have developed our technology which have made our lives much more convenient, and comfortable.  Many kinds of ground breaking invention, for example, have gave us television, computers, useful vehicles, and effective medicines.  We have much longer lives than ancient people had in the past.   Thinking about these good phenomena which we have by our remarkable progress, many of us might agree with the statement that making progress is always good.  However, I cannot allege progress is perfectly good thing for us, human being.  It is because making progress has brought us bad result too. 

 

  Making progress as I said before, let us produce lots of advanced technology, which we sometimes utilize for bad purpose like weapon of war.   Civil War killed the largest number of Americans since the birth of the nation.  The reason for the lots of victims is the use of weapon made with the latest technology at that time.   As you know, nuclear weapon is also the result of highly sophisticated technology.  Studies of medicine and pharmacy, which have saved lots of patients by discovering the way of cure past-incurable  diseases, also have been taken advantage of to produce bio-weapons such as anthrax.   In this way, useful technologies have been utilized for the purpose of killing or injuring people.  Empirically, the more we advanced technology, the more devastating results we invite with the abuse of them.
 
  Again,  I do not deny the good result of progress itself.   However, we never fail to use these admirable innovation for bad purpose.  Therefore,  the results of our progress have  rather suffered people.  Because of our bad use of our technologies, I think it wrong that making progress is always good.
