In short, key point of success in our life is that we can make friends with others, make ourselves understood by others, and persuade others to do what we want. In order to achieve this goal, we had better acquire communication skills. I am sure that communication skill is the most important skill to lead a successful life. Communication skill means the skill to negotiate with others. I heard that students in America or Europian countries learn communication skills through discussion in their class. When I was a college student, I also learned some of communication skills, such as how to give persuesive speech, how to take effective eye contact during presentation and so on. If we speak to others in order to negotiate with or persuade them based on these speech technique, our opinion will be much credible and persuasive; we will be able to succeed in the negotiation. We can apply communication skill to business and private life since, as I mentioned before, we always have opportunity to negotiate with others. In workplace, we take part in business conference, where we have to advertise or explain our company's products, We have to cooperate with our collegues to increase benefit of our company, In private, we go out with others and sometimes we do not agree with others' idea about everything. If we want to do as we want, we are forced to persuade others to follow us without breaking amicable relationship. In this way, communication skills are very important for us to deal with every situation as we want. Of course I admit there are other important skills such as computer skills. However as of such specific skills, good relationship with others enables us to make the most of theirs.
