You will be suprised because you may think that trying new things and challenging difficulties are the tasks of doctors. But I don't think so. Since I am not a doctor, still a student, what I say may be wrong in some ways. But as a student, I feel that most desirable quality for a doctor is doing rotine work correctly. I think most diseases have their own protocol to cure, and it is clear that if the disease can be cured or not by today's medical treatement. So I think good doctors must master protocols that are already done by other doctors and established as an ordinaly method. Do you want to be a patient of a doctor who is full of curiosity and who wants to try new things and take risks? I don't want to. I want to be a patient of a doctor who can do an ordinally method. I think doctors who want to try new things must be a basic doctor, not a clinical doctor. I think "try and error" is the most desirable quality for a researcher. I even think that researchers who do only what they can already do well are not good researchers. But to tell the truth, I must admit that I want to be a clinical doctor who do new things as well as routine works. I know that taking a risk is not allowed for a doctor who care his patient. But then, what can we do to the patients who suffer from unknown diseases. In such cases, I think doctors must take risks and try new methods. I think that can not be done in community hospitals, that must be done in university hospitals. I think so because if some accident happens and the patient dies, how can we compensate for the patient and his or her family? In such a case, it is sorry but we must compensate by paying money. Finally, I want to say that we, medical students, must learn English if we want to try new things and take risks. I think so because most of the pioneering works are done in European countries. And to come up with their works and even compete with them, it is necessary for doctors to use English fluently. Most new papers are written in English, on top of that, if we want our works admitted by foreign doctors, we must report it in English written papers. That is the reasons I practice writing an Essay recently. In the future, I want to be a doctor who can compete with foreign doctors.
