Some movies are serious, designed to make the audience think. Other movies are designed primarily to amuse and entertain. Which type of movie do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I like watching movie and when I was a college student, after I used to watch a few films a week, because my university was in Tokyo and there are lots of theaters near my school.

Although I like watching various types of movie, the most favorite genre is that about history. Someone might think that I like serious movie like "SCHINDLER'S LISTh better than action movie, listening to saying history movie, this expectation is a little bit wrong. I like some serious movie but I do not like thinking about the theme seriously. In short, I regard even serious movie as the object of entertainment. Analyzing every movie entertains me very much. In order to explain my thinking about movie, I will show how to analyze film and how fun the way to watch movies is.

As I said before, I like movies that focus on some historic incident. It is because I am very interested in world history and historical movies often give me chance to understand some historic incidents produced from various point of view deeply from the films. I can analyze how the filmfs director interpret the historical event. Some films also tell me historical episode from its plot. From my definition of entertainment movies, all of historical movies including most serious ones, is entertainment movie.

For instance, "SCHINDLER'S LIST" and "Life Is Beautiful" focus on the holocaust in German. Even such kind of films is entertainment movies for me, although I can learn the importance of peace and freedom. It is because I am interested in historical things of World War 2, and the backgrounds of the films stimulates my intellectual curiosities. When I watch these movies, I mainly pay attention to how people lead a life in the film. Therefore, the equipment that characters uses in each scene entertain me.
