Or we also call some sports such as baseball or basketball as games. If "Games" in the statement mean TV games, I think it is not important for adults. But I think adults can enjoy playing games such as chess or monopoly. Though I don't know how to play chess, in my country, we have same type of a game. We call it "Shogi". You may not know this game, but if you can play chess, you may be able to play Shogi in a few minutes. And I think chess or Shogi are good games for both adults and kids. I think chess is a very good game, because it can be played variety of people. That is, it can be played between people who live in different countries and use different language. For example, an American and a Chinese can play chess by using the Internet. Nowadays, most of us can communicate on the Internet by using our computers. So all the American and the Chinese have to know is a rule of the chess. They don't have to know Chinese or English respectively. As I have said above, most kids in my country hook to TV games, and I also played some TV games when I was a junior high school students. Since I, myself, played some TV games, I must admit that playing TV games is very fun. But I don't think it is important for adults. I think so because I know from my experience, playing TV games produce nothing at all. That is, playing TV games offers no good for our society. So I think adults don't have to play such games, because one important role of adults is to produce something good for our society. On the other hand, I think people who make TV games have very great tallent. For example, in my country some company has produced one famous TV game "Final Fantasy". Though I don't know the contents of this game very much, I love the company's policy or mind. That is, they always pursue not only their benefits, but also the potential power of the computer graphics. And their computer graphics are very beautiful and I think those techniques can be applyed to other region such as medicine or other science. So I think adults must produce games, not just enjoying them. Playing games is a role of children, and children don't have to do something for our society. But adults must offer something good for our society. I think most adults have their experience of playing some games, so they can in turn, apply the experience to something else in our society. |
