I think daily homework is necessary for students. When I was a junior high school or an elementary school student, my classroom teacher assigned homework almost everyday. I hated to do that, because I didn't want to study even at home. And most of my friends also hated to do that. I thought that if I don't have my homework, I can spend my times more freely. But as I become older, I tend to think that homework is necessary for students. I think so because, by doing our homework, we can express our creativity to our teacher. I mean, if we don't have homework, teachers can only evaluate their students only by examinations. I don't say that we can not express our thought in an examination or a test. But I think we, students, can not fully, express our thinking in one test. On top of that, the time of one test is usually limitted.

When I was a high school student, I loved my homework. I spent lots of time for my homework, and in the homework, I could often express my originality to the full. That was like a cummunication between me and my teacher. You may think that we can express our thought even in a examination or a test. I agree with that. And some of my friends were good at doing that. For them, tests are even the place to communicate with our teachers. You may think what I am saying as strange, because you may think that we can communicate with our teacher at our classroom, not in the tests or homeworks. But in my country, students and teachers don't talk much in the classroom or the school. We don't rarely express our thought in the classroom. We, students, are only listening what our teacher says in his or her lecture. So, in my country, students and their teacher can not have sufficient communication in the class.

You may think that students in my country are stupid, because I have said that they don't express their thought in the classroom. But I don't want you think like that. I mean, we, Japanese students, can also think variety of things, and each studnt have his or her own originality. We are only shy, not good at expressing our thought in front of many other listeners. You may think such a person as inferior, but I don't think that. I love, and am proud of our asset or nationality, not expressing our own thought in the presence of many other people. We call it "Samurai spirit". "Samurai" are Japanese ancestors, and they were also shy. By not expressing their own personality in front of the others, they kept their harmoney of co-operation. And I think the harmoney is the most important thing in our society. Selfish individuals are not desirable for the benefits of our whole society.
