If you could study a subject that you have never had the opportunity to study, what would you choose? Explain your choice, using specific reasons and details.

Since I was eight years old, I had belonged to a chorus group for about 8 years. My hometown, Hiroshima is appealing the importance of peace and often invite foreigners to hold meeting to discuss the importance of peace as the place where quite a few people died of attack by atomic bomb more than fifty years ago, Therefore, at the parties that the mayor hold after the conference, we sometimes performed our chorus in front of foreigners' guest. When I was a high school student, in the party, I made friends with a Italian girl. But I hardly communicate with her because of lack of knowledge of Italian. Thus, although I decided to learn Italian when I enter a college, my university had no Italian class. After all, I learned Spanish, which I thought, was the most closest language to Italian, as second foreign language. This bitter experience told me the importance of interpreter as a profession and necessity of learning Italian.

Because of this reason, I would like to learn Italian if I have enough time and money. Fluent Italian will help me to make much more intimate relationship with people who come from Italy and I would understand what the Italian girl said at that time without interpreter.

Moreover, Italian will make travel to Italy much more exciting. I plan to visit Italy with my friends when I finish the preparation of studying abroad. The more I understand the language of which I would travel to the nation, the more I can enjoy communicate with the people in the country; I might be able to visit the different place from ordinal places for sightseeing which are filled with lots of Japanese people like me getting interesting information from talk with Italian. In Italy, I do not want to see Japanese because I want to enjoy the atmosphere of traveling in foreign country.

In this way, I would like to learn Italian if I have a chance. Although I have little free time now thanks to my aim to study abroad, in the future, I really want to study the language. Moreover, I am sure that the knowledge of Italian is helpful for my future dream of being translator.
