| 22/F/Japan>>> TOEFL CBT 223 (5.0) Technological innovation have brought us much more convenient life than ever before. Computer is one of the typical example of it. Newcomer are tend to be judged as a strange things, as camera was regarded box which robs human's spirits when it was invented. Therefore, computer is suspicious things for some people who never accept new invention. However I do not think so. Computer is now prevailing rapidly and contributes to our more convenient life by bringing quite a huge amount of information. With internet, we can not only gain more information at home immediately but communicate with others who living at a distant place, even foreign country. The increase of information available certainly confuse some people some of which is wrong and therefore, they are frown with computer. However if only we care about the source of the information, we are not deceived by the information. Others might point out the increase of work because of the increase of information that worker should deal with. I think it is lie, because we come to depend on computer which replece other communication method. In short only working method is sifted to computer and total amount of working time is not changed. Therefore we cannot say that workaholic person increase with the advent of computer. It is sometimes said that computer is too fascinating that people might lose interests to other things. But the cause is not computer but user. Computer is just a machine. Therefore we should take responsibility to our own way of spending time. Various kind of things can be the object which fascinate people. For instance, those who love reading books cannot do things either. I also have some experiences that I cannot help completing reading some novels and read them overnight. But I think it was my fault. Do you blame book? In this way, someone might think computer is stressful thing but it is not the preblem of computer itself, but that of people who use it. |
