Individual work and group work have different character with each other.  Therefore, both type of work are important in different part of works.  In this question, I would like to answer in the business point of view, because the topic is working.   In the point of business point of view, I think on balance, group work is more important because it is essential for every economical activity,
 
  Without cooperation of workers, company could not do its management.  Business itself is collaboration of all the workers who are engaged in certain economic activity; not only the workers of banks or enterprises but also farmers who rise chicken or rice relate have coworkers.  Therefore, cooperation of workers is base of business activity. 

 

  Working independently has limitation in terms of business activity.  I admit the importance of high quality of individual works.  Especially performance of artists is totally depending on their own works.  They cannot rely on others as for the improvement of their artistic expression.  However, unless editors focus on their artistic talent and introduce the artists by publishing their books,  broadcasting their pictures and so on,  their talents would not be paid any attention.   As you know,  both publishing thousands and thousands of books and introducing excellent individual works into the society are the result of collaboration of workers. 

 

In this way, individual works are important for us but group works of workers is essential for our business management.  Therefore, I believe that group works are more important than independent work.
