Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

     I agree with the statement. I also think that modern technology is creating a single world culture. For example, transportation vehicles such as cars and airplanes certainly connected the world. Ships also combined cultures of countries which are located over the sea. Nowadays, we, Japanese, can live like American even in our country. In our country, we can buy American goods and eat American foods. Almost all the cities in my country have at least one fast food restaurant such as Macdonald or something. We can drink starbuck's coffee in our city. On television, we can see American pragrams such as "Emergency Room" and "Beverly Hills High School". And most of the films we see in our country are the Holywood's movies. So we live like American even in our country.
     But, however westernized we, Japanese are, we can not have a real American culture in our country. I think so because our country is monoracial country, while the United States is multiracial country. Modern technology can bring us much information about the cultures of many foreign countries, especially the culture of the United States. But it does not bring the people of the foreign countries to our nation. It is certain that nowadays, many foreigners visit my country and even live in my country, but my country is still remain to be monoracial. I think this is because many people don't pay attention to my country, in other words, many people including Japanese feel that the American culture is more attractive than the culture of my country. So I think modern technology makes world cultures toward a single, American culture.
     Some people think that it is not desirable to make the cultures of the world to a single culture. So they may be appreciate the modern technology. I also think that. I love the American culture, but at the same time, I also love the culture of my own country. But still, I appreciate of modern technology, because they are creating the world cultures to a single culture. I think that, by having a same culture, we can understand foreign countries more easily. I even think that, we can enjoy talking with foreigners if we have a same culture. I mean, if we see same TV programs or movies, or listen to a same music, we might be able to talk with just like we talk with our classmates. I admit that to know the different cultures of the different countries is very interesting. And that is one of the main reasons that people like to travel to foreign countries. But if we have a same culutre, we don't have to recognize the difference. We can just enjoy our communication. I mean, we can communicate with foreign people just like we communicate in our country. So I agree with the statement that modern technology is creating a single world culture, and I appreciate the tendency.
