People can enjoy convenient and comfortable life around the world thanks to the widespread technology.   Now advanced countries, we lead modern life with various kinds of machines that reduce our troublesome daily work  such as television, radio, refrigerator, raundly and so on.    These machine seem to unify the world culture.   In fact, advanced cities in the world like Tokyo, New York, Singapore are very similar to one another.   They have lots of skyscrapers where business workers deal with worldwide trade.   However, I do not agree with the idea,  because each country has each particular culture that is not influenced by the change of lifestyle that technology brought.

 

  We, Japanese people still have particular culture and it has great effect on our life style.   Because of the advent of technology, we can enjoy more completely westernized life.   We can watch European and American television programs through satellite broadcasting.   We wear western designed clothes more frequently than Japanese traditional clothes, Kimono.  We can eat Western or Chinese dishes as frequent as Japanese food.
  However, our own culture never disappear.   Japanese people still keep native life style, adapting our favorite foreign lifestyle.  In special holiday such as Doll Festival or new year day, we decorate traditional ornaments and celebrate the holiday.  We put off our shoes at home, and feel relax in a room on which tatami mat cover.  Green tea flavor is popular among Japanese especially girls.   That is why green tea is added to many kinds of food even western food like ice cream, cake and so on.

 

As I mentioned before, technology transports convenient machinery and  foreign culture around the world and people have more chance to adapt other cultural things.  However the native characteristics of each country's people gotten by native climate, religion, and traditional lifestyle continue to influence them and they never throw their own native life style completely.
