267/5.0 I feel stress when my life or my work is very busy. That is when I have lots of works to do. I don't feel stress when doing our favorite things. However hard our daily works are, if we love the works, we never feel stress. I stay in Cambridge in England now, studying experimental skills at a biochemistry laboratory. I wouldn't feel stress if I only have to do my work. But now I feel stress. This is mainly because my daily lives become harder not for study, but for things I'm not so interested in. In Japan, we must buy some gifts to our friends or parents when we travel around. That might be a common custom all around the world. But I don't like the custom so much. I don't like shopping so much not only because it costs much money, but because it consume much of my time and energy. For example, today I went to a department store to buy gifts for my parents and relatives. They asked me to buy a coffee cup or a plate of Wedgewood, the traditional England source maker. At first, I don't know even where I can buy that. I was completely at lost where I should go. I went around the city, searching a shop which have Wedgewood's coffee cups. I went around almost 1 hour and finally I could find a department store where I can buy one. In the store, I bought 3 plates and 1 coffee cup for my parents and relatives. In the shop, I have to ask to wrap that carefully, because I have to bring them back to Japan without being broken. You can imagine cups and plates can be easily broken during my way back to Japan. I forgot to think about ways of reducing stress. So I want to tell you that in the remaining 3 min. When I feel stress, I decide to do what I don't have to do. That is, I do things which are not necessary for me. For example, after my daily works are finished, I always go to a music shop to reduce my stress. In the music store, we have also Starbucks, a famous firstfood-like coffee shop. At first, I go to the Starbucks and order a cafe latte in a tall size. Next, I go to the music store in the same building and listening to my favorite music for free, drinking the cooled cafe latte. That is the way of reducing stress for me. |
