I am Japanese and my country's people have made variety of wonderful things that deserve to represent my nation to the world.  But the first thing on my list is Japanese lacquer called "Urushi" in Japanese and gjapanh in English.  Japanese lacquer has been made in many places around Japan.

Japanese lacquer has long tradition.  I have learned in history class that it was made in Jomon age for the first time.  At first lacquer is painted in Jomon wears,  kinds of terracotta, directly in order to strengthen the containers.  But Japanese people learned developped technique of making lacquer from Korean and started to device their unique technique in the Nara age.   By the time in the late of Heian age, Japanese have diplomatic relation with Sou, Chinese empire,  Japanese lacquer was one of the main exported products.

Japanese lacquered products' quality is so high that foragers will be fascinated with its beauty.  It has very carefully made with repeating to paint lacquers.  After finished racking, the lacquered surface is curved to draw beautiful picture of flowers or scenery.  Sometimes it is decorated with gold, silver, rainbow colored shell and so on.  Each of technique to make these products such as curving surface and painting by detailed design needs well-trained craftsmen.  In fact, Japanese lacquer has continued to improve its technique and qualities from now on and French famous brand, Dunhill,  offered to collaborate to make pen which decorated with Japanese lacquer recently.

In this way Japanese lacquer is worth representing my country in historical and artistic point of view.  Therefore I would like to recommend to show Japanese lacqer in an international exhibition.
