If you are asked to send one thing representing your country to an international exhibition, what would you choose? Why? Use specific reasons and details to explain your choice. 22/M/Japan ► TOEFL CBT 267/5.0 I would choose "Sushi", if I can send something to an international exhbition. My country was too westernized after the Second World War. In the war, my country was completely destroyed by the United States. I mean, we have lost many things which were unique to Japan in the war. So I read the question first, I looked around my room, but I couldn't find anything that is unique to my country. But we still have one thing that can represent our country, "Sushi". "Sushi" is very popular Japanese food because of its low fats and low calories. You may know or even eat the delicious food, "Sushi", but for people who don't have yet eaten the delicious food, I want to explain about "Sushi" as a thing representing my country. You can easily make Sushi with only rice and fish. To make Sushi, you must make special rice with some spicy solution. I don't know exactly about the solution we use to make Suchi, but anyway, you can make Sushi with only rice and fish. The advantage of Sushi is you can choose anything you want to make your Suchi. We, Japanese usually put some slice of raw fish on top of small amounts of rice. If you want to put an egg on top of the Sushi, you can. You can put variety of sea foods on top of the Sushi. If you come to Japan and go to Suchi-restaurant with some of your friends, you can find variety of menu in the shop. Sometimes you can find over twenty kinds of Sushi in only one restaurant. If you go to Suchi-restaurant and order some course, you can eat ten or twelve kinds of Sushi foods. Recently, Sushi becomes so popular around the world, and different kinds of Sushi appears even in my country. For example, some Suchi-restaurant put some fried chicken on top of the Suchi. Others put slice of steaks on top of Suchi. But I don't recommend such a Sushi to you. In my country, traditional Sushi-restaurant continue to preserve old types of Sushi, and I love their Sushi very much. But Sushi has some disadvantage as a thing which is sent to the international exhibition. Sushi is raw fish, so if we have to send the object to the exhibition commitee, it might be very difficult. I think it might be even impossible. So if we want to use Sushi as a representative of our country, we have to take photos of the Suchi and send them to the commitee. And if possible, I want some Sushi-cook to go to the exhibition center, and serve the delicious food to the visitors. You don't have to worry about the price, because if you don't drink alchole, you can eat full course within at least 30 U.S. dollars. |
