Thinking about both contribution of artists and scientists to our society, we cannot decide which is useful for our society.   Both works play very important part in our socienty.  We receive different kinds of benefit from both artists and scientists.   In this essay, I will explain both benefits that we can receive and then to support my opinion.

 

  Scientists' fruitful results of research or experiment have brought us physically abundant life.  Development of medicine has yielded some breakthrough which save many patients that had seemed to be incurable.   Many kinds of machine make our lives much more convenient.  Thanks to scientists, we can use our time more efficiently and enjoyably. 

 

  Artists' contribution to our society is on the other hand, bringing mental stability, giving a chance to relax ourselves, and cheering up, although some collectors or shop owners of art works also gain wealth who get a large amount of money by selling them.   Music releases our stress by making our mind fun and giving us a chance to express our feelings.  Literature works show readers the nature of human beings through the characters in each works and becomes a good chance to learn everything from the books.  For instance, we can learn the importance of love from  evil behavior of criminals brought up without love of parents.

 

  Although the messages from artworks seems to be irrelevant or inferior benefit comparing with scientists' works, I do not think so.  It is because scientific benefit has side effect like production of weapon for waging war.  Anthrax is also the typical example.  But artists' contribution has no bad mortal effect.  Therefore, even if we compared artists' contribution to scientists' one,  we cannot decide the superiority nor inferiority of them.
