<< I would prefer to spend time with a couple of friends of mine who are close to me, rather than with a large numbers of friends. This is because close friends and I know each other well and can talk to each other about something rather personal. Moreover, when I go out or do something together, it is easier to make decisions and so on in a small group. However, I like to be in a big group as well, since I enjoy talking to many people and parting around. First reason I prefer to spend my time with my close friends is that they and I know each other and understand each other to a great extent.  This enables me to be more relaxed and be myself when I am with them.  It is important for me to have some close friends to whom I can talk to about even some my personal matters, and who talks to me in this manner. The reason I think this is important to me is that I am currently overseas and that I am away from my family and all the friends in Japan, so I need someone to be really close and to understand me well.  It seems that my friends who spend their time with me are also the case. Second reason I like it better to spend my time with my close friends is that is it more effective to make decisions and do something in a small groups in many occasions.  It does not usually take us long to make decisions to, say, go somewhere together when I am in a small group with my close friends, while it takes us so long yo do so when I am in a big group.   In this case of large group, even if we make decisions quickly, it is unlikely that everybody in the big group is happy with the decisions.  I went to Sydney in a relatively large group of ten friends, even though it was fun, we could not use our time effectively, because it was hard for us to agree to do anything, because everybody wanted to do different things.  Even though it was fun to be with many of my friends and even though I liked it at the time, I would not prefer this way if it would happen all the time.  On the basis of this consideration, I prefer to hang around with my close friends rather than with a big group. Even though I prefer to spend my time with my close friends, I do like to be with a large number of my friends, because I like to talk to many people and party around. It is fun to talk, say, about movies, music, schools and so forth with a lot of people, even though I do not like to talk anything personal unless I know them very well.  Moreover, getting to know many people and be around with many friends also gives me more opportunities to make more close friends who I really feel comfortable with. Additionally, when I am around with many friends, I feel that I can learn many things that are new to me, which prevents me from keeping narrow ideas of the world.  However, I still prefer to spend my time with my close friends, because even though it is fun to be in a large group, I still need close friends with whom I can really fell relaxed and comfortable with.  The time would be hard if I would not have any of them, even I still have a large number of friends who are not really close to me. In conclusion, I prefer to spend my time with my friends, than with a large number of friends.  Even though it is fun to be around with many friends, it is rather important for me to spend my time with my close friends with whom I can talk or listen even to something personal.  Another reason is that I can use my time more effectively when I do something with others.
