| << I don't know why they think that my community is the better place to establish a new university. My community is far from big cities and transportation methods are not convenient. And though population in my community is very small, 800,000 people, we have already four universities including private universities. So I think there is no need that we establish another university in our community. But I think only one merit of constructing a new university in our community. If the government constructs a new university in our community, they can build it at low costs. I think that one of the most big problems when planning to build a new university is that the price of the land is very expensive. If you plan to build a new university, you must gain a vast area, and the price of a land is expensive in big cities. Especially in big cities in Japan, the land price is too high. If you want to gain your house in big cities in my country, you must pay nearly one million dollars or more. So most new comers live in some apartment house or mansion instead. On the other hand, the price of land in my community is relatively low, so the government can buy large amounts of area without paying too much. But who goes to the new university? I mean, what is the characteristics of the university? In my community, as I have said above, there are already four universities and each has its characteristics. For example, my university has a school of medicine and people who want to be a doctor can study there. And since we have already many doctors and hospitals in our community, there no need to establish a new medical school. Another university in my community is a private university and people who can afford to pay the school tuition can learn there. And the other two universities are located in local areas, so students who live in far from the center of our community can go to the universities. If you want to establish a new university, I recommend that it includes a law school. Though I don't know exactly if we have some law schools in our community, I think we don't have no law school in our community. So I think it is desirable to establish a new university which includes a division of law. And I recommend that the university must offer a chance to study for many people. I mean, the university must offer a chance to study to many generations as well as to young people. There many old people who retired their job and want to learn something new. To saturate their desires, the univesity must include variety of divisions. For example, it offers a place to learn cooking or playing musical instruments or drawing a picture. On top of that, the university must give them a chance to be accustomed to IT industories. In conclusion, I think there little advantages to establish a new university in my community. But if you want to, I recommend that the university includes a variety of divisions which can not be offerd by existing universities. |
