It appears that advantages of my community in building a new university are greater than the disadvantages. Although it may be said by those who emphasize on the disadvantages in terms of inconvenience in the neighbourhood, this argument is overweighed by the advantages.  These merits can be focused on the sound environment and on increase in choice of courses available within the community.

The first advantage of the community in building the university is that the community can offer students sound environment in many ways.  This city, though it is one of the biggest cities in NSW, still have natural environment nearby.  There are beautiful mountains and beaches, which can make the students relaxed and then concentrated on study.  Moreover, because this city is relatively small and quiet in comparison to major cities and because there are not many amusing or shopping facilities, it is more likely that students can concentrate on study without many disturbances.

The second advantage of this community in establishing the new university is due to the fact that there is only one university in this neighbourhood in spite of the large number of students.  The new university will be able to offer more variety of course, and thus students will have more access and choice in the university educations.  This community can make the most of this improvement in access and choice, because this community is known for its extremely large of students. In other words, even without the new university, there are a large number of students in this city.  On the basis of this, this huge population of the students that gather in this community on the purpose of obtaining university education will all better off, if the establishment of the university and increase in the choices in courses come true.

Despite these advantages, it cannot be denied that this community has a disadvantage of establishing new university in terms of inconvenience.   That is, even recent time sees some improvements in public transportations, they are not yet sufficiently provided in this community, which may disadvantage those who do not have access to cars.  The railways and bus services in the city is not well organised, or enough and are always delayed, which means a great inconvenience to students, especially those who do not own any cars.  Another inconvenience is that, because this community is relatively far from a major city and because the city itself is not large, there is not many part-time-job opportunities for current students or permanent-job opportunities fro graduates within the community.  Even if they obtain jobs in the major city, it is hard to commute frequently to the major city in terms of time and transportation fees. However, it seems that the advantages are more significant than this disadvantage mentioned above, because what matters more importantly is sound environment for student for study and the fact that the community and its great size of population can make the most of it.

It has been discussed that establishing the new university in my community has both advantages and disadvantages.  Even though this community has disadvantage in its inconvenience, advantages override the demerits.  This is because the community has the ideal surroundings for study and that the community is capable of making the mist of the university.
