| << I prefer to plan activities for my free time carefully in advance. Even though I sometimes feel that I can be more relaxed and do things more freely when I do not plan anything beforehand, merits of having careful plans seem to be greater. This is because plans enable me to use my free time effectively and because it is fun to make plans. The first advantage of making plans beforehand I think is that the plans allow me to spend my free time more effectively, comparing to when we do not have any plans. If I list up what I would like to do during holidays beforehand, it is possible for me to follow these lists, prepare for them and get everything done effectively in limited time. Contrary, without any plans, it can happen that I end up doing nothing or doing some stuff but cannot make the most of the free time due to the lack of plans. It happens to me, when some of my friends and I want to go on a trip but we do not have any specific plans before our holidays actually start, we sometime have to give it a miss to the trip. This is because we run out of time to prepare for it after our holidays start and because it is hard to book transportations and accommodations, which is supposed to be done before the holidays actually began. On the basis, I prefer to makes some careful for my free time in terms of effective use of time. The second merit in planning activities for the free time is that planning itself is always fun and enjoyable. I always enjoy thinking what I want to do in my free time and talking to my friends about it. That is, planning for holidays and imagining something enjoyable make me feel better and forget about the real situation for a short while. This may be a kind of escaping from the reality, but it is true that this is enjoyable to me. For example, I like to have plans to go on a trip somewhere with my friends or to go back to Japan for my holidays that usually start straight after the exams finish, because these plans make me feel better and thus can motivate myself to work for my exams. To sum up, I like to make plans for my free time because it is fun and enjoyable to make and have plans. Although I prefer to make plans, I also note an advantage in making no plans for my free time in advance, which enables me to spend my time more freely and to be more relaxed. When I do not have any plans for my free time, it is possible for me to do whatever I feel like doing at the very moment and to decide not to do anything. This can gives me more relaxing time, because then I do not have any schedule or appointments that I have to keep and because I do not have to be concerned about anything. It is important to be relaxed and to have rest during free time so as to recharge some energy, both mentally and physically, and preparing for the coming busy days. However, I still prefer to make plans because I like to use my time effectively and to enjoy making and having plans. In conclusion, I prefer to make careful plans for my free time and holidays beforehand. Although I may have more relaxing time when I do not have any plans, the advantages of planning seem more important to me. These merits, as previously mentioned, can be looked at in terms of effective use of time and enjoyment in planning itself. |
