Since I study science, I want to disagree with the statement. For me studying science seemed to be more important than literature. So I decided to study medicine for all of my life. But at the same time, studying history and learn from the past also seems to be important for us. These days medical and scientific technology develop so much. If we forget to learn from the past, our ancestors, our technology may bring some unfortunate results.

I chose to study medicine for my entire life. This is mainly because of my characteristics. I prefer new things than the old things. If I study medicine hard, that could lead to the benefits of my future patients. On the other hand, however hard I study history and literature, that could not bring any benefits for someone else. Moreover, I can never change the past things however hard I try.

Of course if I read many literatures and learn what our ancestors' thoughts, I can harvest my minds. That can be the energy for me to study medicine as scinece. I believe philosophy can be the motivation for me to continue studying. But if I have to compare the importance of studying literature and science, I want to say science is more important.

We can learn literature and history by ourselves. Moreover, literature and history can not be taught by teachers in a classroom. When we read one books, everyone of us doesn't feel and understand the same way. I guess this is because we don't have the same experience. Our understanding of books depends on what we have experienced in our lives.

Compared to literature, science seems to be more technical. Of course if we have to study science that is not yet revealed, we have to think and learn by our own minds. But when we learn science that is already established and recognized by everyone, we need not think by ourselves. Such an established science can be learned from our teacher efficiently in a classroom. So I think studying science is more important for students.
