In secondary school, most Japanese students have to prepare entrance examination for going on junior high school and therefore, they are expected to study some subjects whose exam they take more than other subjects.  For most students, music and art are not included in the subjects of entrance examination.  That is why I think opponents of studying such subjects at junior high school make the light of these subjects.  

  

   However I do not agree with the idea.  Stdents in junior high school, secondary school in my country, Japan, should learn such kind of artistic subjects.  It is because music and arts are useful for students to increase their knowledge and to have opportunities to find out their new talents and hobby.

 

  The knowledge of music and arts make the important rule to widen students' knowledge and objects of their interests, which is of use for other subjects.  They might increase their interests to other subjects, like English or literature through foreign or domestic arts and music.  With the heightened interests and eagerness, they might boost their ability. 

 

  Music and art class will give students excellent chance to know about music, from which they might discover their artistic talent, touching musical instruments or artistic masterpieces.  At the age of a junior high school student, they learn to consider their future and find out their preference and talent.  Therefore, the chance is very useful for such students. 
 
  Even if they do not discover their prospects of succeed as a professional artists, music and arts are important for all students in terms of opportunity to widen their breadth of hobby, which will heal and entertain their mind in the future.  Since, in music class, they learn many kind of music and they will encounter their new favorite ganre, without the class they would not find.  Especially as for art works or specific music in dairy life we seldom have chance to touch on them.  Therefore I think that music and art class in junior high school is necessary for them. 

 

  With these consideration of the values of music and art class at junior high school, I would like to conclude that students should take music and art class at their junior high school.
