| << There are some fascinating traits both in literature works and
film works. Although I love both of them in the different points, on
balance I like reading novels better than watching movies. It is because
thinking about my situation, novels give me more interesting things than films.
First of all, novels stimulate my imagination and I can
really enjoy the process of imagining the story in my mind, when reading the
book. As you know, there is no limitation of our imaginary world.
Even if big badget was prepared for producing films and we can enjoy gigantic
films like "TITANIC", wonderful devices for shooting effective scenes have
limitation physically, and financially. Moreover, directors cannot spend
much money for all the film. Therefore, our imagination of the story world
can be more exciting.
Secondly, reading novels save us for precious
time. We can read books whenever and wherever we like. Even a
few minutes we spend on waiting for something like our visitors or
transportation, we can enjoy the reading material. If we try to watch
movie on the other hand, we have to spend about one and a half hours on sitting
in front of screen. As for me, I cannot spend such time so
frequently. Yet I can enjoy reading by making the most of my short free
time which would be spent in vain without reading. Therefore, I like
reading more than watching movie.
Last but not least, reading novels is more economical
method of entertainment; in Japan, adult person has to pay 1800 yen for watching
one film works, whereas novels' price is from about 500 yen to about 1400 yen.
Besides once we buy the literature work, we can read many times before we use it
for fuels. If we discover unforgettable scenes in the novel or what we do
not understand immediately, we can read the parts many times. In my
experience, I usually find out some interesting things through repeating reading
the same books.
In this way, novels bring lots of interesting things and
enjoy me more than movies. Therefore I am sure that reading novels is more
enjoyable than watching movie.
