| << In my country, most young children especially the age of 6 to 15 spend their time practicing sports. I also practiced swimming after school. Practicing sports have many advantages. We can meet new friends at a swimming school or a tennis school. By joinning some baseball team in your community, you can enjoy baseball with many friends of differnt ages. In Japan, we have club activities after school. Most students join in some sports clubs and practice after school. You may think that club activites are only for exercises. But exercise itself is sufficient only with our physical exercise classes in school. In P.E. classes, we practice some sports such as a basketball or a soccer with our classmates. For children, too much exercise, especially too much muscluar training is not good for health. That would damage their appropriate growth. So we don't have to do exercise more than our P.E. classes. But we do sports even after our school. School deans also offer students to participate in some sports clubs. PTA, parents and teacher association, also recommend children to join in some sports clubs. They think that that would prevent some illeagal activites. That is, if students have nothing to do after school, they might go to some dangerous places and learn many illegal things. On the other hand, if they must do club activities after school, they can't go to such a place. They stay school, and practice sports with other students. So club activities have many advantages. But as I stated earlier, too much exercise would damage children's appropriate growth. |
