| << It is disagreed with the statement that only people who earn a lot of money are successful. The term success can be defined as an achievement of the goals that are set by people. Although some may say that earning money is the only way to be successful, since achievement of goals always directly relate to money, this argument is not true. This is because some people set goals that are not connected to earning a lot of money. Some argue that people are successful only when they earn much money, because the goals that they set always relate to higher income. It is true that some people have goals to have higher income to be rich, to buy whatever they want and so forth as their goals of life. This is because when they have money, they can do many things such as buying more gorgeous houses, expensive dresses, better food, and so forth, which can lead to more luxury and to successful life in a material sense. Apart from this, even when people do not aim at higher income itself, success in their jobs can lead to high income. Suppose that you are an office worker, and successful in your job, thus one day you get a promotion, that raise your income. Suppose you are a painter, and your painting win an award. This brings you not only success in painting but also higher income. Hence, it can be said that achievement of goals in our lives directly and indirectly relate to earning lots of money, which leads to a consideration that success in lives can be seen as higher income. However, it is clear that there are also some cases where people can be successful in their lives even when they earn high income. It appears that people can be successful without high income, because some people set their goals of lives that are not indirectly or directly relate to high income. These people do not prioritise money and chose to attempt to accomplish something that do not gives them high income. Because being successful refers to a status where people accomplish their goals regardless to their income, it is possible for ones to be successful without money. One example can be those who work for Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) working on developing issues if the developing world, and who set their goals to be engages in these organisations and issues and do what they can do about it. Although it is less likely that they can earn high income from the NGOs that are usually non-profit organisations, they can be successful in achieving what they aim at. They will probably say that even though they can only earn what they need, they can feel they are successful in working on something meaningful. Like this example, there are some possible goals that can be set by people, which do not connect to money. This leads to an argument that success does not necessarily equal to earning much money. In conclusion, it can be said that people who do not earn money can be successful, when they set some goals that are not directly or indirectly connected to higher income. The opponents of this will say the goals that are set by individuals are directly or indirectly relates to money, nonetheless this argument is not true. |
