| << I agree with the statement that children should be required to help with household tasks as soon as they are able to do so. This is because, through taking part in household work from their childhood, they can learn to be responsible for their tasks and gain some skills to do the work. The first reason why children should be required to do household work as soon as they come to be able to do so is that these activities enables children to gain sense of responsibility that they should have as a family member. Taking some parts in household work means that the children are given some roles to play the work within the family. Family members, especially their parents, supposedly teach the children to be responsible for this work even if what the kids can do are only small things. Through this process, children can learn to be responsible for their roles within the household. Helping with some household work also means that the children have to look after themselves partly, without asking others to do so for them, which can also contribute to sense of responsibility. For instance, if a child was given a role to wash dishes, and if the children are able to do this task as a rutin work, this indicates that children are now responsible for carrying out the child' role in the family. Moreover this can also mean that, though washing the dishes that he or she use, the child takes care of him or herself, thus be responsible for taking care of the self. This responsibility within the household enables ones to responsible for their tasks outside the family. This is also important when they grow up, because everyone is for their work especially at the working place. Thus, if anybody lacks sense of responsibility, it is unlikely that ones without is can be successful in their lives. Another reason why the children should take part in the household work is that they can gain some skills to do the work helping with it. It appears that if the children are not taught to do the household work including cleaning, cooking, washing, ironing, and so forth, they just rely on their family members in doing this and taking care of themselves. This obviously disadvantages the children when they grow up and leave their family. Of course, people can learn how to do the work when after they grow up to adults, there is no doubt that it is better to have sound skills to carry out the household work before they actually leave their family. I myself left my family a couple years ago without knowledge how I can do the household task properly, as I was not given much household work until then. I now learn to do this work, but still, I think it had been better if I could have learn how I could do it properly when I was younger. To me, it seems who are trained to do this task when they were young can do it in more effective way in a shorter time. This is possibly because they are taught in a proper way and because they have been doing it for a ling time since they were young. It has been proved that the children should be required to do some household work even when they are young. This is because helping with the household work can contribute to the sense of responsibility of the children as well as to skills to do the work and take care of themselves without their family. |
