It seems that students should be required to wear uniforms at schools, for this enables it to make the students equal regardless to their financial situation and to prevent competitions in terms of fashion. Although some may say that students do not need to wear uniforms, as it is better for them to wear whatever they want in order to allow them to express themselves, this argument is overweighed by the argument for the uniforms.

The first reason students should be required to wear uniforms is that uniforms allows them to be or at least look equal. If every student has to wear uniforms, this enables them to see each other one equally without feeling anything about one' financial status. Contrary, if students are allowed to wear whatever they like at schools, it is probably possible to see the differences not only in terms or tastes but also in terms of differences in financial situations of their families. This can put some hard time either on the rich or the poor depending on which group is majority in the school, as the students may try to exclude the minority group.

The another reason all the students should wear the uniforms is that the uniforms can prevent competitions among students in terms of fashion. When schools let the students to pick what to wear at schools, it can happen that students compete each other on it or that try to look nice too hard, which can exceed some acceptable level. In Japan, it is often observed students at schools carry designers' goods such as bags, even though they do not earn enough money to purchase the goods on their own. This leads to a consideration that, without uniform, they will try to wear what they can do the best and may compete each other, putting aside their work I myself went to a girls' high school in Japan, so I can somehow imagine this situation. This sometime can be escalated because of competitions among or between students, which leads to unpreferable study environment for the students. This competition can cause students ask parents for more money for fashion, work as a part time too much putting aside their study, and even they commit a crime to get money to dress well, which is unlikely to happen when they wear uniforms.

Some may say that students should wear school uniforms, because students should be allowed to express themselves and give a right to choose what they wear. It is true that uniforms leads to an idea everybody should be the same, with which students can be stressed not to be different from each other. This is due to the fact that people can be stressed when they are not allowed to be themselves. However, the argument that uniforms enable them to see each other equally and to prevent competitions is more significant. This is because students are mostly not mature enough to be responsible for their freedom that is given. That is, they may bot be able to choose what is appropriate dresses for schools or to judge others according to their dresses. In these cases, not having uniforms can lead to unprofitable consequences such as competitions, grouping on the basis of classes, bullying, and so forth. Considering these things, students appear to better off if they have to wear schools uniforms.

In conclusion, it can be said that all students should be required to wear school uniforms. Although some argue that students should be given freedom to choose what to ear for schools, this argument is rather week due to the immatureness of the students. It would be better for students if they have to wear school uniforms because they enables them to look at others irrespective to financial power and to prevent competitions.
