Each student has his/her favorite way of spending vacation.  Therefore which type of vacation is preferable is depending on each students.   As for me, having very long vacation once a year is better.  It is because the very long free time given as vacation can be used in more various way than several times short vacations, which is suitable for students to spend much more freely.

 

  Long vacation enables students to travel to farther place than when they have several short vacations.  There is no obstacles for their travel except the anxiety for sickness in the destination since they can use much time to visit and stay at the distant place like foreign countries.  Moreover, students can spend on traveling  slowly to learn about the place and make impressive memories there through the plenty of discovery at the place, which will become their life long treasure.  Short vacation cannot allow them to spend such kind of way.  Lack of time means lack of chance to encounter wonderful things at the place they visit.  
 
 Students,  especially young students should have opportunity to travel very distant place. Since only at students' age we have enough time to spend on traveling far place that they cannot visit so frequently and only at that time, our young frexible minds can absorb many things efficiently.  Long vacation is therefore, necessary for students as the more precious chance to travel.

 

  In terms of the condition of finding out part time job, long vacation is more suitable. In my country, Japan,  students can more easily gain their jobs than when they ask for part time job during short vacation.  Employee hardly employ them only for half a month or a month they are given as their short vacation. In fact,  Some students need to gain money for their tuition fee or student loan.  Thus, long time vacation is preferable, thinking about the situation of finding part-time job during the vacation.

 

 Some people might prefer having several short vacations around a year because having rest frequently seems to relresh students.  However, we have already have enough rest time constantly by enjoying our weekend.  Do they need such a long time, more than two days only for recharge their battery of their mind?  Can such easily- tired students continue to endure their everyday hard working for four years?
