In my daily life. I often hear adult people complaining about their children who always watch TV.  Guessing the way of saying, most of they might regard TV as evil things for their son or daughter.   It is true that TV might cause to weaken childrens' eyesight or to reduce their precious time to do neccesary things, like playing, doing homework, or other kind of things.   However, I do not agree with the idea that watching TV is no good for children at all.  It is because from watching TV, children can learn lots of things.

First and for most, children can absorb tremendous pricious information from TV programs.  For instance, from watching TV drama, whose plot are often produced based on the social topic like social problems or the conflicts of human relationships.  Therefore, children will have a chance to consider these things even if they have no actual experience in their real world.   The imaginary but seemingly real stories rather make them judge each situation and have objective situation.  These experience must be useful for them to face and to forced to deal with the same troubles as the drama actually.

Secondly, TV programs, having visual aids, are useful as educational materials.   Thanks to the animated VTR, children can learn necessary subjects enjoyably.  With the fascinating programs, children might be more interested in the study and acquire the contents more efficiently.  Every children can remember more amount of contents of the study with the entertaining help, TV, than when they reluctant to remember with their teachers' tedious explanation.  In fact, there are lots of TV programs produced for lecture of certain subjects and teachers let their pupils watch such programs for education.

Despite such educational effects of TV, I know that  many adults believe TV is evil for children.  When mentioning the bad effect of TV programs, they usually argue it is time waster; children are too fascinated with the programs so that they cannot do other things.  What is worse, TV might rob their time for sleeping which is harmful for their health.  I have to admit its possibility, however, it is not the fault of TV program itself, but the way of watching TV.  If children are too immature to manage to allocate their time to do all important things in their daily life, parents can tell their son or daughter the right way of using time.  If they watch programs too near TV set, their mother or father can worn.  In this way, If only they can use their time appropriately and at the right distance, TV itself must be useful for their education.
