| << Pearsonally I don't like to watch television. So I want to agree with the statement. This is because television consume our time to a great extent. On the other hand, one of my friends decided to be a doctor when he watched one TV program. If he didn't see the program when he was a child, he never came to our school. On top of that, many of my friends say that television helps them to be relieved when they are alone at home. So it is true that television have some advantages if we use it effectively. I don't like to watch television. This doesn't mean that I don't like the contents of TV programs. I love some of them. I don't like the time I consume by watching a TV program. When I was a children, I watched TV very much. This is a very regretfull experience for me. I didn't want to spend my childhood time as such if possible. Now I don't have television in my room, and this helps me to use my time to the full. I have said that I regret my childhood experience. But one of my friends appreciates his experience of watching television when he was a child. He loved one Japanese drama program, "Furikaereba yatsu ga iru". If I translate this title into English, it might be, "If you look back, he is there". This drama is about two doctors who go different ways but begin to understand each other. My friend was impressed by this drama, and decided to be a doctor. On top of that, many of my friends say that they can't live without TV. As soon as they come back to their home, they switch their TV on, though they don't necessarily watch the program. For them, contents of television are not important. For them, most important things are human voices from the box. They say that they can't spend alone in their home without no human voice. I think the same thing can be applied to children who must spend alone at home. For those children both parents work, television might be useful to some extent. |
